Who should Joeaksa write the check out to?

You've probably been following along my bet with Joeaksa on whether Fintstone will show up for Mike Holloway's Ultimate Pelican Meet(TM) March 24-26. Here's a link to register: Roll Call for the UPM (Ultimate Pelican Meet) March 24-26 Las Vegas - Whose Going?

it should be a fantastic gathering of Pelican's best and everyone should attend.

I'll be sending a check, made out to Joe, to Mike H. soon to cover my bet if Joe wins, but when I win, the $500 will go to a non-profit. I'd like to get some input on which non-profit it should be written to.

G9Girl works with Kids In Distressed Situations a lot. All of our drive dolls, books and school supplies, as well as any excess inventory, are donated to KIDS, a national organization dedicated to helping children in need.

Others to consider are below. Please take a quick look at each one's website, charter, and cast your vote in the poll:

Operation Truth - http://www.optruth.org/

Habitat for Humanity - http://www.habitat.org/

City Year - http://www.cityyear.org/

KIDS - http://www.kidsdonations.org/

If you have a good nonprofit that you would like added to the list, please let me know.

Thanks!

Shaun

As long as we are in a voting mode, (thanks for telling me about this ahead of time Shaun, next time some notice would be nice) I have asked Shaun several times who we should send our funds to for safekeeping until the Vegas gathering. I wanted to do it right now, lets firm up the bet and get the money into impartial hands two days ago.

So far no answer from Shaun but I now see this thread and find out that he is going to send his funds to Mike Holloway, who is unknown to me. I wanted for both of us to send our checks to a impartial moderator, someone like Bill Verburg, but guess that he does not want to do this.

Shaun, what we are going to do with your money is not a difficult question. We could make it really hurt and send it to the Republican National Party or Ann Coulter/Sean Hannity but believe that it would be better spent on paying for Fint and myself to have a very nice dinner of Porterhouse (or RibEye) steaks and King Crab legs while in Vegas.

You know, I might just email Ann Coulter and see if she is available for that weekend. Bet that she would like a ride in a nice 911 and would love to discuss politics with Shaun, Rodeo and a few other selected individuals who are walking down the wrong path...

This is getting fun...

Excuse me, name calling is not really necessary, but if thats the only way you can communicate, then here we go.

Hey Dufus, I do not support that part of the NRA, and would rather have it go to the political section of the organization. The "Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award" is not something that I support or would have specified it, but guess that Shaun likes it for some reason. I would prefer that it go towards defeating laws that are aimed at taking the weapons from private citizens and stopping frivolous product liability lawsuits against legitimate arms producers.

Assume that you are going to be coming to the meeting in Vegas? Please do and we can discuss the various ways to use dufus in person if you would like.

They are the same thing you idiot: http://www.nra.org/Article.aspx?id=3082

The NRA has many websites, there's no "part of the NRA". The NRA is the NRA is the NRA, just ask Chuck. If you go to http://www.nrahq.org/, you'll see a whole list of NRA web sites.

Hey Idiot (since you do not seem to be able to communicate with someone without calling people your favourite family names), once again, Shaun put a link up for the "Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award" and I do not support that cause.

The "wonderful first link" you provided is for supporting womens NRA programs. Do I look like a frigging woman? I feel that there are other programs in the NRA that I prefer to support, and not this one. For some reason Shaun and yourself it seems, likes to support womens groups. The only support I like to provide for ladies is for their titties with my hands and possibly other parts that we cannot mention here.

If I am going to be forced to name a fund for people who do not seem to understand, how about this: http://www.nradefensefund.org/ It benefits both men and women so you and Shaun should be happy!

Please continue to post here, and if possible dream up more creative names to call people in your inspiring posts. You are at post #51 now, and might make 100 by weeks end. Good to have a goal in life...

Guys, let's settle down here. this post is about finding the best use of Joe's $500. There are plenty of other threads for name calling.

Hey, listen, I was only kidding on the Move on .org suggestion.. I'd much rather have it go to a WORTHY cause, not to more political posturing.

Hardflex,

Lets open it up to everyone and their ideas of where it should go, then vote. Someone may want to send their funds to MoveOn.org or Al Franken or other strange organization.

To tell the truth, the choices of organizations have changed since the thread was opened so to be honest might start the voting over again as some people might want to change their minds.

Shaun, I do not know this gent but as long as he cannot post without calling someone a bad name, then I am going to respond in kind. I guess thats the only type of communication he understands. Personally I would rather be civil and hope that he gets the message that I am not into supporting womens groups and finds another thread to build his count up in with his prose.
