Nope. Bought a water heater instead. (Don't ask).

But I've just enough left to possibly carbonize my Paramount Ti. I'm gonna' make a Rose Bowl killer out of that steed.

One of the best riding bikes I ever owned! Schwinn Paramount Ti, hand crafted by Serrotta. Wish I never sold it!

Good luck with your carbon freshen up!

Yep. I saw a brand new Serotta Ottrott at my LBS; $7,000. Then I looked at my Paramount and thought how I could freshen this up to something near the same level.

I mean, as stands, the Paramount, fully kitted, is only 8 kilos. 7.5 kilos, maybe 7 can happen (maybe).

Hey George: yeah. It is funny we're all on the Serotta forum. Unfortunately, the Ti stem I bought from you is too long. Too bad; it's a beautiful piece of engineering.

BTW: question for you Serotta guys: is all that triple butting such as on the Ottrott that much of an improvement over straight gauge Ti. The Ottrott is really something with its tapered tubes -- larger at the head and narrowing as it approaches the seat.

I just question the viability, you know.

The Ottrott is a beautiful frame but, to fully take advantage of it , you need to have it built for you. when you get sized, its not just measurements of your body. Its your weight, riding style(masher vs spinner), the roads you will ride. The tubes are tapered to improve the efficiency of the ride. Stronger where it needs to be, thinner etc...

Hey George,

Did you sell all your stems? I think I need a 100mm, not a 130mm. Nice Sachs btw. Is that a 1 1/8 headset? The stem on that looks like a Ibis Ti.

You don't need no stinking hot water. What were you thinking? Tankless?

Are the hammerheads at the bowl up to race speed yet in mid Feb?

Nah. They weren't there. I "played" with another rider for about seven laps, then went off on a little climb around the hills. Fun stuff!

That Sachs is absolute porn.

+1.
Butted steel, bar shifters, Brooks saddle. Definitely a keeper bike.

Funny how I keep reading articles on how steel is a material that cannot yield high-speed/racing results in cycling. I find I'm as fast on steel than Ti. I don't know about c/f, but I couldn't see being that much faster.

The 531 decal, the frame-matched Silca pump, the aero brakes, that bike is vintage gorgeous.
