Sharp Aquos LCD TV

Anyone own one? Been looking at one that is 37" HDTV. Any useful advice?

I heard good things about the Aquos, but I went in to a store and bought the TV that had the best picture.

Which for me ended up being a Panasonic.

Sadly this this usually means:" The one with the most secure coax connection."

I've actually often wondered if places like that adjust the pictures on the TV's that they don't want to sell to look bad and the pics on the TV's with the best markup to look good.

I spent about an hour looking at different tv's and the Sharp, at least in this store, had the best picture. Hell even the cheaper models looked good. I have a 20" LCD, off brand, I've had for about a year and the picture on that looks great.

When I bougth a small LCD for the bedroom the cheap one had a bad picture. So I swithed the coax with the one that had a great picture and magically it had the good picture!

Cables/connections are everything.

Those doggone LCD TV's are stunning. Breathtaking. WAY WAY sharper than a tube TV. Mesmerizing.

it's all about RG-6 and compression fittings instead of crimp on.

I own the 26" wide screen Sharp and its in the bedroom. We had the Samsung but the sound on it was terrible. The Sharp has great sound and an even better picture quality. I highly recommend it and believe its worth the little bit extra they charge.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!

My brother was all set to get the Sharp 37". We went into a Magnolia store and the gurus there felt a 37" size was where plasmas start to look better (except for some upcoming Sony 40"). All their connections were DirecTV, so it was a level playing field. And it gets complicated with refresh rates and such. I think plasmas process action and sports better than LCDs. My brother bought the Panasonic plasma.

My problem with the Plasmas is that the tv is going into a room with floor to ceiling glass on three walls. That is why I got the 20" LCD to start with. No degradation in quality in high light areas. Plasmas work best in low light rooms.
