Ok Steve, was saying that the New Orleans levees were deliberately destroyed with a bomb to drown black people illegal? If that is the case, then Lewis Farrakhan should be in jail right now.

Guys READ the article:
"During the programme, she said she did not believe that homosexuals should be allowed to adopt. She added that placing boys with two homosexuals for adoption was as obvious a risk as placing a girl with two heterosexual men who offered themselves as parents. "It is a risk," she said. "You would not give a small girl to two men." A member of the public complained to the police" Not exactly yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre.. Then: "All parties have been spoken to by the police." So imagine if one of those parties had told the police - "f&*k off, I am not talking to you about this.." I am sure that would have landed her in a load trouble. The fact that police can even investigate your opinion on a talk show is chilling beyond comprehension... |
That's what she said she said. We have no idea what the complainant alleged was said.
The police did their job. |
Rick, that was a ludricous statement on the face of it. But if he then went on to incite people to go kill a white cop, yeah bring him to court.

Man Steve you are really scaring me. First it is that poor people are genetically inferior, now police should be "counseling" people about what they say if it isn't "PC".
Scary stuff man...is this still America? |
Rick, you mislead.
Nothing about PC. The police were just doing their job. Investigating a complaint, which they found to be baseless. |
No dude, this happened in England, relax, but not too much
|
President Bush is intercepting the telephone and email communicaitons of Americans without bothering to seek warrants, under a secret Executive Order it is presumably a crime to even disclose, inviolation of federal law and an 8-0 Supreme Court case, and "the right" is up in arms about this?
I have fallen down the rabbit hole. |

since this happened in England, shouldn't the topic be " More free speech criminalized by the RIGHT..." |

This is the silliest thread I have ever posted to ... I'm going to stop now while I'm behind. You guys can debate British police investigative procedures without my help.

This consulting/working on my own time crap has left me with much more time away from the computer.
Used to be, I had to be in the office 10 hours a day, so time on the boards was wasting my employer's time (er... so to speak). Now, I don't have to be at the desk, so I don't have time to kill hereon. I've checked in every so often, but most of the "arguments" go about their familiar pattern. Something new is alleged about Bush. Everybody predisposed to "Bush=Hitler" mania immediately swallows the story whole and refuses to admit even the slightest contrary (albeit actually factual) evidence into their little world. So, while tatering the snot out of those folk can be fun for a while, I turned in my Sisyphus hat and did a few things I'd wanted to do for a while -- became a certified interior firefighter, becoming a paramedic and joined the county's dive rescue team. You know, the usual. However, all bullshyte aside, when/if I have free time to kibbitz and banter with a crew, it'll be right here with the rest of the Misfit Toys. Back to regularly scheduled programming: So, cops should be running these kind of comments down -- it's the "right thing" for them to do? Don't they have lots and lots of other, more freaking important shyt to do as cops? Unless you want lots and lots more cops, running down every theoretically potentially, possibly feeling-hurting comment. Then you'd have the police state we crypto-fascists utopianize. Dang. Did the lefty {trained seal voice} "slipperyslope, slipperyslope, slipperyslope" {/trained seal voice} see that coming? We igno'int cryptofascists are crafty like foxes. :D Now, off to dart league. Free advice -- if you're unmarried, signing up for a 22-week dart league season sounds like a much cooler idea than it turns out to be. If you're married, it's your one-night-a-week-to-go-out-and-do-something-not-too-dangerous-with-the-boys. If you're single, it screws up a good night of drinking and carousing after a while. JP |
Glad your back JP, but the police did not know what the actual comments were, only what was alleged, that's why they had to investigate. So I guess you would like them to pick the ones they want to investigate. I don't think so.
You guys are grasping a straw that doesn't exist. It would be a concern for all if she had been found guilty of a crime purely for the things written in the article. That would be PC BS. And then the title of this thread would be appropriate. |

You always know when a title of a thread begins so negatively against 1/2 of the country, the content itself is usually unfounded against said group....it pertains to an isolated incident.......
Good job, as always, Always, for attributing the actions of a person in an isolated incident to 280 million people. LOL |
