On the Google Toolbar, click on "Options" and then select the "Search" tab.

Uncheck "Save the search history across browser sessions."

Then, close your browser and open it back up...tadah, the list is now empty.

Assuming you are using MS Explorer, go to "tools" menu and select "Internet Options..". It should open up with the "General" tab open (otherwise select "general" on top). Select "Delete Files" and "Clear History" and you should be good to go.

How about not looking at this stuff next time? None of its anywhere near as good as you and your wife (I hope) so just keep some nice (clean) photos of your wife around and when she returns next time both of you will be ready to go...

Oh crap dude, you're right. I mistook the original post as windows keep popping up with ads.....I've seen that happen before......not autocomplete.

Nice work blokes (and ladies). im in the clear. thanks for all the tips.
red-beard, your trick worked a treat.
to be honest, it wasn't the feamale based smut that i was worried about-Im a red blooded male and she knows that, my mate brought his girlfriend and her friend round and they were looking at stuff like ratemycock and orlando bloom in the nude. they were the sites i was kind of worried about having to explain about!
