Whats your daughter up to tonight ?
On call tonight. 01.00 am here in Sweden. Among all the usual infections, allergic reactions, asthma, neonate emergencies etc - I just took care of a 13 year old girl (some ones daughter) brought in with ambulance. Found unconscious down town. Lethal alcohol levels in her blood. Torn a dirty clothes. Total amnesia.
After we got her stabilized and managed to track down her parents I sat down with them for a little chat. Your regular middle class parents. Nice jobs. No previous problems and utterly surprised and chocked over their little girls behavior. Me. I am used to it. Sad to say.

Did she put herself in this situation, or was she encouraged or coerced? You mention "shocked over their little girl's behavior."

She is still verbally incapacitated and have no memory of the earlier night. And there is no other source of information. Besides the intoxication she could have been subjected to any form of abuse - she would not have noticed.

I hate to see it mate, but I've seen waaaaay too much of that around Sweden. More so than other places i've been to. It is a problem there.
I must say though, I've not seen first hand the young age you're talking of, although I have heard of it from friends. It is a sad state of affairs. I hope things turn out OK. (relatively anyhow). |

I hear the Danish Government is pushing for chemical castration of pedophiles. Sounds very prudent to me - even though I would prefer using scissors or similar tools.

It's 1 AM, she's 13 and her parents didn't know she was out? WTH? Shocked at HER behavior? I'm shocked that they didn't have her safely at home at such an hour. I would have had the police looking foor my 13 year old daughter OR son at 1 AM.

I swear, when I have kids, I'm going to have tracking devices implanted in them, have security tracking in their rooms and on external windows so they can't sneak out.

Just read your thread - tried to call my 18yr old, got a message. Went upstairs and gave my 3 yr old a kiss on the forehead. Said a prayer for the other one.

Sheesh. And people wonder why I don't have / don't want kids. . .
I like life: simple, uncomplicated, inexpensive, peaceful, undramatic, enjoyable and as worry-free as possible. Thank you very much. I think I'll show this thread to the wife just to hammer the point home some more. . .

About six months ago my girlfriend recieved a 8 yr old patient that was the victim of a home invasion/rape. She was left home alone and without a phone while her mom was at a night club. The little girl was to afraid to go outside after the rape so she sat there in the dark for 8 hrs until her mom showed up.

Oh Boy, don't have/want any.Did have my niece a few years back /her Mom had died..but to the tale.
She 13 going on 25..very pretty girl. Told her..been there done that and I know what's out there. it's like this..they want to get in your pant's.. you need to try to keep them on ... "oh he's not like that " sheez...it all went downhill fast. believe she's 23.. 5 kids since ,all taken by state, few weeks ago I got a call....arrested for attempted murder. Rika |

I have four kids, three of them are girls.
I will be a nervous wreck by the time they hit their teens. Starting to think a gun might not be such a bad idea after all.
