Think about it: an au pair is a teenage girl who was that desperate to get out of her parents house. Gives you a hint of the personality type.

We've have Au Pairs for almost 13 years...some have been VERY good looking (renounce your citizenship good looking) and others desperately average.

We have had very few issues...my wife does all the interviews (including their parents), daily maintenance and we only pick college graduates. I try not to get in the way.

A 15 y.o. neighbor of ours babysits for our daughter for $5 an hour. My wife asked her how much she wanted to get paid. She said she didn't know. She asked another mom four doors down who has three kids, and she said she pays $6/hour for all three. So my wife offered the 15 y.o. $5, and she jumped at it. I thought it would be more like $10 because a girlfriend in high school (20 years ago) made $6-7/hour.

i have a friend that works for an au pair service here in the bay area. she said it is common knowledge that the young hotties WILL bang the dad. at this point i see this as the only reason to have kids. go to some of the websites, it is like hiring a hooker. they have photos.

I'm pretty certain that's how my friend found the Swedish girl. Funny thing was he couldn't tell her to do anything. She had the ultimate leverage; "I'll tell your wife!"

When I dated May Anderson she was an Au Pair from Denmark. She didn't bang the daddy (he was about 500lbs and could barely chase after her).

If I was a singlke daddy with kids older than 10 I would consdier it! I would trust the tramps with my babies though...
