Death Penalty and DNA testing

Ca Assembly members Koretz of West Hollywood and Lieber of Mountain View have introduced legislation that would put a moratorium on the death penalty in Cali for a few years while they "study" the situation.(Those of you who live in California and have a 1976 or newer vehicle can thank her for ending the rolling exemption on smog testing. Ironically, I am pretty sure I know her chief of staff. A Democratic Dickhead who went to HS with my younger brother. I refer to him as DD as these two things define him well and succinctly, IMHO)

I was listening to the radio on the way home from work, heard this and thought the host had an interesting idea. Put the moratorium in place and do the testing. Those who are proven innocent are treated accordingly. Those who are proven guilty are executed the day after the test.

Of course, there are those who consider the idea of Capital Punishment barbaric, and I for one am always interested in hearing what someone who disagrees with me has to say.
