Question Any Toyota/Lexus V8 Experts here?

Any Toyota/Lexus V8 Experts here?

I just picked up a Lexus 4.2 V8 engine with an extra 4.7 crank, TRD oil sump, TRD cams the racing oil plate, ect. Stock headers and no intake (TRD sells one to work with a Holley). It was taken down at 42K as it was going to be built to a Ivan Steward type engine. Anyone done this, I'm thinking about putting it in my Tacoma for grins (if you read Car and Driver you will know where I'm going) or save it for another project.

As if you don't have enough irons in the fire!

Sounds like a very cool project. Keep us informed!

Tell me about it, if I were smart, I would just keep my little truck a beater, but, you know how thing go sometimes.

I'm still checking on the cost of doing the swap. But the idea of close to 600HP is too much not to give it some looking into. I should shelf the parts until my other projects are finished, but we will see as I dig into what else I need. Just seems ashame to put so much in a truck that isn't worth very much and never will be. Here are some of the goodies I have to start with.

And I thought I'd be cool if I put a SC kit on my wife's 4Runner! That's badass, go for it!

Well, one thing that I'm counting on is a buddy who owns a shop that tunes Jap cars, he has a late Supra rear end & complete brakes on a trashed car, and he have a Porsche that he needs a bunch of stuff that I just happen to have. You guys didn't really think that put a high HP engine without making other correct & needed mods did you??
