Calling all East Tennessee Pelicans. Need help!

I just got word that our plastic injection molding plant is closing. I have an offer pending for a transfer to our Maryville Tennessee facility. We are exploring this as an option. I would need to sell our current farm and buy a place down there. I am having a hard time locating a small 5-6 acre horse farm in that area with an old but sturdy farm house. Does anybody have any connections in the area which could lead me in the right dirrection?

Also is there any wacky facts I should know about the area, people which live there, school system for childeren. How is the UT engineering program?

Thanks a million guys.

Speedy

5 or 6 or even 46 acres is NOT any kind of farm, period, not even in 1650 when this nation was being founded. 90 acres was a mininum even in the colonial times for any kind of "farm". So get over the farm part of your story and get onto the real part, ie getting a job, down south, that pays, anything commesurate to that up north. Yes you can do it, but you got to be on your toes and ready to go on your own to accomplish this task.

Let me clarify.. a 5-6 acre hobby farm for 3 horses and lots of breathing room. Where I am now my nearest neighbor is more than a mile away and I live on a dead end country road. I see maybe 4 cars a day including the mail man. I guess I am more interested in the seclusion with the ability to bring my wifes horses. If I was buying a huge, for profit working farm I wouldn't have to be concerened with finding a job... That would be my job.

AF I still want to see your shop sometime...

Por_sha911, I will check out that PCA link.

Thanks,
Speedy

Not too bad, but there are better choices. I had planned on going to UT but ended up going to Tennessee Tech as they have a much better engineering program. Tech is about 1.5 - 2 hours from Maryville, I would imagine.

EAGLE RIVER!

I'm from Cookeville. I'd agree TTU's engineering program is better than UT's. Hell, last I remember it was a nationally ranked program.
Small world.
