You guys have it all wrong. What we need to do is sit down and talk with the killer bees. We need to find out why they sting and what makes them so nasty. We need to look inside ourselves and try and discover what makes us so inviting to the bees.

Then we need to agree to let them have their own little killer bee kingdom in exchange for not stinging us anymore. They promise never to sting us again...really they do...

Oh yeah, and we need to withdraw our flamethrower, but just to over the next hill...out of sight of the killer bees.

Superman 01-20-2006 09:20 AM

What do you guys think of Rick's expectation? It sounds like he'd expect that a leader of a Muslim, ME country would, after coming under nuclear attack by the United States, would reach out to us and want to cooperate vigorously.

Rodeo 01-20-2006 09:28 AM

And too bad Rick's bombing did not take place pre-9/11!

Had we done some serious destruction of Islamic holy sites pre 9/11, I'm sure America would have "reined in" the guys living in America that flew those planes in the towers.

Oh wait ...

Well, I'm sure GB would have "reined in" those London subway bombers and Spain the train bombers.

I suppose the other "Hives" theory does present a bit of a problem.... This may be a way around it though.

Of course they would probably resort to this at that point.

It's a Lose, Lose situation I am afraid. Metaphorically speaking.

If your theory is correct, then if the Terrs nuke an American city, the US government will then quit the middle east, and leave them alone.

I think this theory is stillborn.

This whole post is a riot.

A pathetic mia culpa as to how badly the war on terror is going, with a weak ass attempt to shift blame to the left.

Keep it coming boys, I need a good laugh.

thrown_hammer 01-20-2006 09:44 AM

no you don't.

Rodeo 01-20-2006 09:59 AM

There is one way to win this war: Stop people from becoming Islamic terrorists.

When the "let's kill them all" crowd gets that rather simple fact through their head, the answers will become a little clearer. As will the stupidity of "bombing them into submission."

It's the old trick of taking your greatest vulnerability and foisting it off on the other guy -- to confuse the uninformed.

Dubya paid no attention to OBL or al Quaeda as president.

Bill Clinton used Tomahawk missiles to try and kill OBL.

The 'righties' cannot abide these facts, so they work hard to create the fiction that it was the other way around.

Dubya couldn't even be bothered to have a meeting with the foremost terrorist expert/strategist in his administration before 9/11. But he was able to schedule 4 weeks of vacation in that time.

vash 01-20-2006 11:22 AM

i think a nuke will just piss them off. and it may just make a smaller nuke on american soil fairer game. i dont think an answer is that simple. besides, wont a nuclear weapon mess up all the oil fields over there? then where will our pres/VP bee?

me? i want to starve them out. get the free world 100% independent of the freakin oil. solar panels, hydrogen fuel, whatever. turn the some of the richest people into the poorest beggars standing on worthless sand. they will hand over the terrorist for bread.

oh, i consider "JAP" racist. i think they do to.

Rick Lee 01-20-2006 11:32 AM

Unfortunately, we WILL face another huge terrorist attack many years before we or anyone else is weaned from the foreign oil dependency. We can't wait around for someday. So what was Chirac referring to when he said France would be prepared to use nukes? Did he mean tactical battlefield nukes? SLBM? What? I'm kinda curious how he thinks he could make a difference there.

Know your enemy.

That sage wisdom has never been truer than today, with this new kind of "war." One without battlefields, soldiers, central command. A war where there can be no victory or defeat. We will know it's over after a decade or so of peaceful coexistence with the Muslim world.

There's no need to hold hands. But it imperative that we know our enemy. It's the first step to winning this and any other war.

Jim Richards 01-20-2006 11:38 AM

He's trying to show his manhood, and getting pummeled by his Euro-pals, RL. LOL!

I'm a huge fan of weaning the US off of foreign oil, whether from the ME or our buddy Chavez to the South. What's our Pres/VP have to loose by pushing for that?

there's little better than toasted croissants with butter and honey.

Edit: why does the right always want to kill things? the solution to every problem is just kill it.

Rodeo 01-20-2006 11:41 AM

Haven't your heard about the Bush energy policy?

They are turning off quite a few light bulbs in the White House. And curbing "non-essential travel." That means any travel other than the 400 trips they have made to the Gulf Coast to patch up the Katrina clusterfcuk.

livi 01-20-2006 11:44 AM

End result of dropping one nuke:

Reduction: 9900 innocent + 100 terrorists

Production: 1000 freshly motivated terrorists

Total: 900 more terrorists... (and one nuke less)

Sounds like our Iraq policy

Rick Lee 01-20-2006 11:52 AM

Markus, don't forget the billion or so people who will know we mean business and might think twice about letting terrorists operate anywhere near their turf.

Yea, like the Governor of Florida! And the leaders of Great Britan, France, Spain and Germany.

They'll be sure to clean those pesky terrorists out of their jurisdictions once we drop a nuke or two to motivate them.

Shaun, do you suggest negotiations? Why do so many handwringing liberals fail to understand that a good portion of the world understands nothing but force and believes restraint and weakness to be mortal sins?

Make a deal with the devil and you're the junior partner.
