"Heaven Can Wait"

Buckle up and let's be careful out there, fellas (and ladies too!)

"Heaven Can Wait"

This has been a public service announcement. Be safe!

Good video. It is proven that seatbelts can save lives. That poor Rabbit though. I had a friend that was just in a head-on car accident last weekend as a passenger and she survived. However this week she is awefully sore because of seatbelt injuries which she would rather have with being alive than being dead. The officers on scene told them had they not been wearing their belts they would have all been dead.

I was expecting something completely different.

That actually gave me chills.

Thanks for sharing!

No, see, you're turned around 180º.

Libertarians will approve, because this advocates taking personal responsibility for your own safety.

Ah yes, thankfully the government required the strap whereby they can take such a responsible action.

All those trees should be chopped down so they don't run into the cars.

The Naval Safety Center is an amazing organization...every Navy squadron and ship has a Safety Officer that gets help from the Safety Center.
Aviation squadron SO's must attend a very effective SC school prior to assignment.
The SCs data base, preventative media and analysis save lives. Every naval aviation mishap is investigated and reviewed in almost ridiculous detail: the lessons learned, however, are incorporated into aircraft design and crew training with the goal of preventing future mishaps..

After 20 years of having SAFETY drilled into my head at every available opportunity, I'm sometimes amazed at how ingrained it is whenever I'm doing potentially dangerous tasks around the house. Lockout-tagout for electrical repair, redundant jackstands when climbing underneath the p-car, fiberglas ladder when working around power lines, etc, etc, etc,...

Oh, I've been buckling up since long before it became a government mandate. I feel naked without a seatbelt.

Some pretty good habits to have, IMHA

The "bodies" never look as bad as they do in a real accident. A dab of fake blood here and there and they think they have created a "real scene". If people could see what really happens to them in an accident, maybe they would think twice... then again, they probably wouldn't.

Being a "Safety Guy" for the motion picture industry, I get it drilled in my head as well. For the most part, our industry is very, very safe. Our OSHA reportable and recordable rate is on par with the Banking industry, believe it or not. But when you look at specifics, like our woodworking shops (mills) we're actually worse than commercial woodworking by quite a bit. Oh, back to the video, not bad, makes the point, but the driver should have been smashed up a lot more.

I was driving a city SUV Sunday before last, while waiting for a left turn light to turn green, I was rear ended by a drunk doing 40mph. It was 8:30 in the morning. He totaled his 91 Z28. He mostly went under the back of the 05 Trailblazer I was driving, but still punted me about 10'. He had no insurance, a suspended license, & admitted to the cop that he had already had a couple of 24 ouncers. Needless to say, he went straight to jail after a sobriety test. My vehicle had about $1500 worth of damage, it knocked the spare tire off & tore up the bumper.

I had a sore neck & headache for 4 or 5 days, but feel better now. I'm sure glad I was on city time, I've heard that I'll get reimbursed for some of the week of sick leave I burned up.
