Quite the feat! I just watched the Richard Hammond/Evel Knievel interview on YouTube. Very interesting perspective.

Is that stuff he's doing even relevant compared to what those guys in the X games are doing ? Not being critical , just asking

When the wind is blowing at 25 and gusting to 40mph, yeah, I'd say it's bad ass. The Indy car clowns are complaining about the wind, and they're on the damned ground. Well, most of the time anyway.

Why doesn't he use an old, POS junk designed harley like his dad did?
![]() The kids on X-games do stuff like that every day but they throw in a back flip with no hands. |

Here's that same 12 year old on the same 85cc bike doing a big back flip.
I'd say Kneivel's stuff is pretty much irrelevant compared to the rest of the stunts being done all the time. Last edited by sammyg2; 06-08-2008 at 06:54 AM.. |

Yep, modern MX bikes are complete different animals to what Robbie's dad was doing in the 70's. 200+ feet vs 100 feet still takes some balls, but if the longer distances are creeped up on thru practice, this stuff is child's play compared to what the old man was doing back in the day.
