Could be that the seller has gotten tired of the price of fuel too.

Jeez - I love that thing! That's my idea of an SUV. Can I put a little pickup bed behind it, and maybe get it in 4WD or AWD?

I just went past the cheapo truck stop in SoCal. Diesel was $2.79. I was in Vegas with my diesel van last week, best I saw on the trip out and back was $2.37, in Vegas. Everywhere else was >$2.55-ish.
Might make feeding a 600HP trophy truck hard to stomach. My 105HP turbodiesel NPR gets 18-ish MPG. Was still pricey to haul 4 bikes out and back.

That does seem cheap, but then again I've seen 4 year old Chevy Silverados going for $11k. The GMCs don't seem to hold their value very well at all. I have my 04 F250 turbo diesel for sale currently for $37k. I'm done paying $2.89 per gallon for hard-to-find diesel.

Here's the Ebay ad that is the source for the photos:
It was bid to $39,200 and did not meet reserve. I don't think the seller would be asking $24K a day after the auction closed.

That is one of the fairly common Craigslist scams, filching some pictures from an ebay listing and offering the item for considerably less than the top bid. It is a classic "if it seems too good to be true....." scenario, but someone's greed and stupidity will cause them to send a large deposit to "secure the sale".
As for the price of diesel, it sucks on so many levels. Planes, trains, ships and trucks run on it, and it is one of the countless unplanned for and unintentional consequences of invading Iraq. I would love to know how many millions of gallons (a day?) has been diverted from normal U.S. supplies for that. ******* Ralph Nader.

"As for the price of diesel, it sucks on so many levels."
Doesn't bother me a bit .... of course I'm getting 48MPG with my diesel. Diesel has finally come back down to 'normal' levels at most stations (i.e. about the same as mid-grade or premium gasoline). Filled up at a station last week for $2.33 where it was cheaper than regular gas.

That TDI is a sweet car, Curt. Drives nice too, right?
What I meant by that comment was that I think it will have a Domino effect on the economy via inflation, actually this is already happening but it's been held off as long as possible. I liked it when diesel was ~$1.50 @ gallon, that keeps the economy hopping for all of us little guys. |

Planes don't run on diesel...for jet fuel, think kerosene...
