Cindy Sheehan did a god thing. She was the first person to speak out forcefully against this war on a national scale. She raised the awareness of a country. She was 100% correct, as we now know, and it took guts to get out there in the early days, for which I give her credit where due.

Now, she appears to have gone off the deep end. But that does not dilute the basic truth that this is an ill-conceived, illegal and ultimately disastrous war for America's safety.

Making Iraq safe for radical Islamic clerics was not worth almost 2,300 American lives, 16,000 American casualties, and $300 Billion. It wasn't worth anything.

And she will always be remembered for this.

At least by most of us.

That's funny, I thought it was Michael Moore, Jeanine Garrafalo, and that whole crowd who spoke out "first".

Again you have a grain of truth in your post. I have made some money indirectly off of the war. When I was a young pup, way back in the 1970's, along with my Father we invested in a wildcat oil well in Oklahoma. It paid our investment back in 18 months and has been sending a check every month to my house since.

Yes, everytime the price of oil or gas goes up, I do make some money but you could have done the same thing had you had the balls to take a chance like we did. Otherwise I have not made a penny off of the war.

I wasn't referring to your making money off oil, although that explains some things. I was referring to your constant tours "in the region" where you apparently meet with lots of servicemen and women. I asked you once before if you were or worked for a war contractor, and you refused to answer. If you are not working for a war contractor, then your refusal to so state perplexes me. In case you are interested, I am not a war contractor, nor do I work for one. See how easy?

As to Sheehan, you said the DNC was supporting her. In my world “support” from the DNC or RNC means one thing – money. With the money sometimes comes logistical and other support like polling and consulting. the DnC's job is to elect Democratic candidates.

Sheehan may be running for office, but she has not received any support from the DNC, financial or otherwise. In fact, I think she just announced her “candidacy” from South America. I fully expect that the DNC will back the incumbent Democratic Senator from California.

I stand by my statement. Now, why don't you either show us how the DNC is "supporting" Sheehan, or retract yours.
