Why I missed the SOTU speech...

I'm driving home, gung-ho to hear the POTUS, and promptly got caught in the middle of an anti-Bush protest on Cahuenga and Sunset in front of the CNN building.

I don't know. Aside from the humorous irony of this, I was mad only because my motor was getting warm, and I have no radio in the car (stripped) to hear what I was missing. But then, even with half the protestors looking like they hadn't taken a shower in three weeks, I thought, "Well, this is America. At least they're out here, whether others think they're right or wrong."

Just an observation - nothing more to add.

Sometimes you have to repeat things multiple times to get through to some people. Sometimes it isn't enough...

Interesting... when did he mention the situation with Iran and its trying to develop nuke weapons? Please post a link to the previous SOTU speech where that was mentioned?

His push to make the country go futher away from foreign oil and embrace renewal energy was also mentioned last night. I seem to have missed that in previous speeches as well.

to replace more than 75 percent of our oil imports from the Middle East by 2025.

As well the retirement of Sandra Day OConnor...

Guess I missed all of that in his previous speeches.
