Keep this post in mind when you see the anti PETA commercial on TV tonight.

Tonight before the state of the union address. There will be a commercial run which will bash PETA for euthanizing animal's.

Please keep this in mind:

Most of the animal's euthanized by PETA come from pounds that do not have the money or the resources to euthanize themselves.
Some of them come from rural areas that do not have pounds.

A lot of these pounds kill the animal's the old way which is by drowning or gassing. PETA is doing these people a favor.

Of all the things to complain and criticize PETA over, this is not one of them.

Poor PETA.

Maybe they'd like it better if the meat, fur, and pet industries just poured gasoline on their headquarters and threw a match. (You know, fighting honorably like they do.)

Didn't peta get in trouble not too long ago for throwing little puppies that they had euthanized in the garbage instead of properly disposing of them?

Go to your local humane society and look in their dumpster.

You will see dogs, cats, and other animals.

Anyone who eats meat or swats mosquitoes then has the balls to whine about poor bambi getting killed and eaten, qualifies as a nut job to me.
It would not suprise me if PETA mercy kills when they see fit, yet chastise others for doing the same. I guess I will approve of the commercial?

I wish I could find that photo of some goose hunters lining up their bagged geese on the ground to spell "f... you" the photo is captioned "HEY PETA".

Note to self: put on flame suit!

Joe, I heard that as well.

They were saying that about the time they found those animals. They say they take them from places that put the animals down inhumanely and euthanize them painlessly instead.

PETA was founded with noble intentions. Unfortunately they employ a lot of "over the top" antics and use partial truths to gain sympathy for their cause - as a result they have lost credibility with a lot of people.

I think they are a little hypocritical... Against hunting for conservation (we don't hunt, animal populations grow larger than the ecosystem can support... disease and famine spreads... much suffering on the part of the animals...) but 'euthanize' domestic animals?

They're mostly a bunch of nutjobs. Heck, I'm all for not testing on animals, as much as possible, but most of their other views are just wacky.

The also rarely think more than half a step ahead of what they do. For example, I can't remember when, or in what state... some PETArd broke into a mink farm and released something like 10,000 mink. These now free mink proceded to DECIMATE the local ecosystem, because it could not support 10,000 MORE hungry animals. Total lack of foresight, and ignorance to the consequences of their chosen actions.

I know there are whack jobs in PETA

There are whack jobs everywhere you look in life.

I am saying this criticizim is wrong. PETA puting down dogs is not wrong.

A few years ago there was a sheriff in some small town who would get on TV once a week and shoot 3 or 4 dogs. sometimes he would have to take a few shots as he had been drinking. (bryan, I am sure they sent them off to have them creamated)

Other methods included putting 20 or so dogs in a cage then useing a tractor or a crane to pull the cage out to the middle of a lake.

Like I said, once a family member of yours gets bitten/attacked by a dog with distemper and/or rabies you will no longer blame PETA for doing in these dogs.

It's the hypocracy. PETA has claimed to never euthanize animals. That's supposed to be what set them apart from the local animal shelter.

I'll never forget PITA fighting to take away this family's pet chimpanzee...The animal was with them for like 20+ years and PETA came in and sued them to take the monkey away and send it to a zoo. The family, without question, loved that chimp but PITA saw fit to rip the animal from its home because they thought they knew best...They are animal rights fascists.
