What I find most amusing about this whole thing is what people from other countries know about us and we don't about them. And that is really sad.
The 10 year old knew who the president of the US was, when you ask ANY 10 year old from the US who the prime minister of the England is you would be hard pressed to receive a correct answer.
I was in a cafe in the south of France, a town of no more than 500 people in beautiful rural wine country (a completely wonderful place I might add) and the waitress at the table knew that IL had voted democratic and in turn was nicer after knowing we had voted against Bush. I cant tell you what kinda of government France has, let alone tell you who is running it. It was a humbling experience. Too often the US and its people are so close minded and so egotistical. Honestly there are times im ashamed to be an American.
