Reporter in a school yard talking to a group of 10 years old boys - nota bene all with Arabic background.

One of the boys asks the reporter: - How come the world is ruled by the two most stupid persons on the planet ?

Reporter: - Uhh, and who might those two persons be, my little friend ?

Boy: - Usama Bin Ladden and Georg Bush of course !!

Just goes to show that the DANISH writer H.C Anderson was on to something in his novel about the king without clothes.

Very eloquently put. Thanks. I am convinced you are more insightful than that 10 year old SWEDISH (Arabic) boy.

Point is, I don´t presume to suggest he was a junior political genius. I don´t expect he understood how, in some sense, ironically true his statement was.

Everyone (probably even some stupid Swedish kids) know who Bush is and that he is perhaps the most powerful man on the planet.

As Bush´s opponent (having impact on what happens on this planet) the boy didn´t mention yet another political leader. He mentioned perhaps the most hated one.

And, in some sense, I suggest he was right. Bin Ladden has an enormous impact. Economically, politically and morally.

My point was that this, stupid, little boy was more insightful than he himself knew.

I won't dismiss parental influence, either, although when I was ten years old, I could, for the most part, formulate my own political theories about the world's goings on.

Nonetheless, children follow in our footsteps, don't they? And if we are to say "Bush is bad," "Bush causes war," "Bush wants to destroy the world," they'll invariably repeat that phraseology.

Of course, that isn't entirely the case, but some parents are completely biased as are the schools they send their children to, and the communities in which they live.

If that reporter wanted to flip the coin, he'd go to a community in support of Bush's policies. I wonder if he'd be surprised by a ten-year-old's emphatic support of Bush. If he was a responsible reporter, he'd find a ten-year-old Bush supporter; or better yet, a child who was undecided about Bush being right or wrong.

Same goes with OBL, btw.

Oops. I found this young, naive kids statement kind of interesting in a symptomatic, non ill meant sense.

I immediately get defensively spanked buy someone that arguably defends Bush with the same vengeance as the Muslims defend Muhammad.

The point was not the exact words the boy used, but rather the choice of persons being strongly implemented in peoples minds nowadays.

It was not a political statement, it was a hint of which persons seems to occupy peoples minds the most. Having virtual power or not.

I'm with Dave on this one. Knowing Dave personally and knowing where he comes from makes his point all the more relevant (to me anyway). There is hope for the next generation (or hopefully sooner like Dave's and mine - "gen x ers")

Brian, You *really* need to get your a$$ out of Nebraska and see the world a little bit. Is say this know your propensity to snuggle up to anything Pro-Bush, republican or Law abiding (no speeding ) I have never met you, but knowing you through your posts, I can see that when I was your age, we likely thought the same. As you grow older you mellow out as to what is/is not acceptable and you'll scarily find a blend of one side and the other. Thankfully, I didn't have the web and a forum to vent on when I was your age. I'd cringe to bring that **** back up.

The people I fear the most are those that would put a political bumpersticker on their car!

There will be plenty of time to see the world when I'm out of school, and plenty of time to rest when I'm dead. As it is now, I get to Madison, WI maybe 4 times a year and San Francisco maybe twice per year. I realize that is not quite "seeing the world." I'm not sure how this is all even relevant to my statement, because ten year olds are probably pretty much the same wherever you go. They are impressionable little mush heads, who repeat whatever they hear from their parents.

It's a big waste of time debating politics with the liberal people on this board. They jump to conclusions with everything they hear on CNN, and spew such negativity and one-sidedness it's unbelievable.

I ignore most of the "debates" as its the same old crap. I've yet to see anyone truely discuss GW's accomplishments in office so far. They are a quick Google away, and pretty impressive. Lots of things accomplished for the good of this country- rich and poor alike, that have gone unnoticed.

You can tell by the lack of interest in this thread that my question is still valid- who gives a ***** what a 10 year old Swede says? Sounds harsh? Perhaps, but you have to understand that most of us are fed-up with the crap spewing from Hollywood's "elite", and we would ask the same question about what they have to say. Relax. My post was not political per se. It was not wright nor left. In fact it had nothing to do with any political persuasion at all. It was simply a naive, but ironically amusing random sentence made by a young boy. A boy that obviously would have very little knowledge of the political state of the world.

His naive, non deliberate statement did however put a finger on the ironic fact that a cast out Arab with a fundamentalist's terror agenda has made an enormous impact on current international affairs. Siding him with Bush was double irony, coming from an ignorant kid.

The scary thing is when a grown man takes this kids answer so seriously and feel the need to post such defensive and aggressive replies. I guess I hope it takes more than getting scared by a little boy for someone to press the RED BUTTON.
