Score!!
A good friend of my Dads heard I got a Porsche 911 and sent me a present.
Its what is referred to as a "get out of jail free card" in the police circles. Its a Detectives association Honorary Member card with my name on it and the Detectives name on it. If used with good judgement can sway a cop on the fence over writing me a ticket towards not doing so. It can also backfire depending on the cops mood, my attitude and severity of my infraction. 99.000% of the time I am extremely polite and respectful. So this shouldn't be a problem. Funny thing is, I will probably never get pulled over again. I usually get caught in a speed trap once every 3 years.

to do this nonchalantly, have it placed front-and-center in your wallet so it can be seen through that plastic "window" that's designed for a driver's license. wait until he comes up to your car and asks you for license/reg. and then get your wallet/license out for him. they always watch your hands (understandable) so 9 out of 10 times they'll bring it up themselves. when they do, you're home free. they'll ask you about it. once you tell them what's what you can just sit and wait for them to bring you back the "warning"... unless they are SEVERELY pissed off allready...

I saw a Sopranos episode this week where Tony tried exactly this stunt. PBA decals and cards are very common in NJ. Cop didn't even look at it and wrote him up.

A couple of cops I used to hunt with, and a cousin who was a cop, all claimed they would slap anyone twice as hard that tried that crap with them. They were not into the good ol' boys clique thing at all. I know; I asked all of them for similar "credentials". While they freely acknowlege it happens all the time, they all abhored the practice and their fellow cops that honored it. It's "priveledges" like this that erode the public's trust and respect for law enforcement.

I kinda wondered how a cop would react to the sticker I had on my truck a while back:
"Bad Cop, no donut"
