Yes, New England clearly beat them up good in the AFC Championship game last year. I'm merely pointing out you don't perform at that level two years in a row by being lucky. Pittsburgh was a very good team last year and New England was better.

Sometimes the best team wins the Championship, sometimes it doesn't. Just because J.B. Holmes wins a tournament, it doesn't mean he's better than Tiger Woods does it? Well there you go, the Steelers are J.B. Holmes:)

If J.B. Holmes wins the PGA Championship, he is better than Tiger Woods.

So.... the week after the Championship, with your life on the line you would take J.B. Holmes over woods? Don't make me laugh.

I said If J.B. Holmes won the PGA championship, that year he was better than Tiger Woods.

I don't think you understand the concept of winning a championship.

No I fully understand, you apparently do not. I understand that luck can play a large role in who wins a championship. I also understand that it played a much larger than usual role this year. That's all I'm saying and I'm correct. Like I said, give it a week or two and you'll be reading the same thing from the "experts", it's just too soon for it now.

There is no denying luck. Look back at any playoff run. If Brady's "fumble" against the Raiders isn't called a pass, they most likely lose that game. I guess what confuses me is what you are calling lucky. The only possible break they caught was Cinncinatti when Palmer went down, (in a game they were favored). Injuries happen. The other two games? Polamalu's intereception overturned giving them back the ball? Denver? The only real travesty would of been if Seattle won. Weakest schedule, worst division, poor conference, 2 home games against 6th and 5th seeds? Tell me if they won how that could not be viewed as lucky?

Winning a Championship doesn't mean you are the best??

Give everyone a trophy, just like in Tee Ball.

In a week or two, I would hope you would of moved on. I'd love to keep this going but I'm officially done defending the Steelers. I've got a parade to catch!:)

Roethlisberger's QB rating: 26. Yikes......

Tervuren 02-07-2006 06:08 AM

The won who wins the championship is the best team if its about winning, now the NFL is about advertising, and winning helps a team's advertising, so yes, I say winning is a major part of being the best. Steelers won. You don't see me still whining about a Ferrari gearbox failure that happened 40 years ago and a "lesser" car won the race do you? Fact is, the Ferrari and driver did not have what it took to be there in 1st AT THE FINNISH. Its the score at finnish line of the race/championship that counts.

Here here! No defense needed - winning entire championships does not happen by accident you whiners:p

IMO the officials were a little overeager to "do the job", ie make the calls. Big show, big stage, big calls, overeager. Pressure from the big stage ie the home field. Could have been better.

The Seahawks have had trouble with the refs all season long.

BUT.......the Seahawks got themselves in their own stew of trouble...so much so that the refs calls should not have mattered.

Nope, I'm not a Steelers' fan - the Seahawks are just down the street from my house here in Kirkland Washington :p

Let's moooove on, hell I'm happy they made it to the big game.

waugh-waugh.

Perhaps Holmgren should return to Green Bay, so he can pick up some cheese to go with his whine.

:)

Just found out that we won a trip for 4 to the Pro Bowl!
50 yard line tickets, airfare, tailgate party, 360 a night hotel for 5 days on Oahu. 80 degrees.....

Craig 930 RS 02-09-2006 09:35 AM

Hasselbeck said after going through his first Pro Bowl workout Wednesday. "They're not trying to screw calls up. Sometimes, you get it right, sometimes, you don't. They're doing the best they can.

"We've got to move on, say, 'Hey, we didn't get it done. We didn't do enough to win the game."'
