His house. He does share it with us though.
If we had a real dog house, I would be the likely occupant. Trying out the panoramic software...

I built a mean cat house from 1.5" x 12" redwood planks. Complete with four .75" x 12" x 12" windows.

It's only for cats but it is worth the eyeball.
The redwood scraps is from dock building. The four 3/4" glass panes was from a neighbors trash. He was dumping those living room "end" tables. The inside stringers were long teak from rebuilding a Hatteras sic cockpit. Fasteners for this are SS screws. The caulking is that 7day cure stuff that needs a solvent to clean up with. Actually that caulking was cut so nice with gasoline that I devised a waterproof coating and stain on the redwood by gassing it thin into a sort of syrup like stain. It weighs a ton and each of 6 pieces weighed about 60#. It had to be assembled on top of my redwood outside glorified party shower. The top flips for my access with ss hinges and a hole was designed for the cat at floor level. The ss industrial door hinges haven't been installed at picture time last Sept. Those were also a freebie. I paid about $100 for the ss screws. About $7ea for 10 tubes of caulk. The piece alone with the center glass is the roof. The glass is flush level and can handle my weight easily. I figure it should be good enough to last forever in salt air.

thx for the lol I figure that it's gotta be strong enough to jump on. The designer front entrance has a majestic lightning theme using natural lighting. The dining area overlooks a privacy outside entrance. Sleeping quarters overlooks the native alley wildlife area. Another window views ducks, geese, gulls, etc flying over a channel. The planks are big bucks. Last time I looked, 2000, redwood was $8-10/ ft. Deck pine seems to eventually crack. Cedar costs too much. It'd be cheaper to build a brick house. Brick work is easy. Anyway... 30 sqft = 6 x 5 you need 3 planks high 6x3 6x3 5x3 5x3 + 7x6 roof + ? floor = 108 ft minimum 108' x $10 = $1,080 $1,080 100 caulking 150 ss screws 40 router bit 100 bs stuff that doesn't include decorating.. party hearty

don't forget that the gassed caulking made a great long term sealer that covered a lot of imperfections.

I built this one at my last house in Denver. It had a saltillo tiled porch, carpet inside and another dog door inside that went into the laundry room of the house. Siding, shingles and all also matched the actual house. This was not a cheap project but came out very nice.

Here is our shed. Sorry about the pic. I just took it and it is snowing like a bastard. We call it the dog house/ love shack/ fuel depo. Depending on the wifes mood. It is really the Biodiesel depo.
