Exactly. The union doesn't own the part or the factory. If the engineer isn't interrupting assembly, the union should not be bothering him. I'm sure every employee has some sort of ID...the union should not have a problem. Unless OSHA is behind that, there's no excuse for it. And if OSHA is behind that, then it should be reviewed.

Having pride in what you do or make is good. It's bad when it translates into creating a mob.

Supe, i do not buy the WMD BS but that has nothing to do with Unions.

There are many workers that do not belong to Unions that do just fine negotiating with employers. In fact, most of the White Collar US workforce do not belong to Unions.

I think that most Unions are a hindrance to the US economy and capitalism and it is time for them to evolve.

It is BS to not be allowed to move a box in a trade show unless you are Union, overpay under worked longshoremen, deal with flight attendants that offer crappy service because they have seniority...

Merit over tenure, efficiency over bureaucracy that is how a capitalist economy should work.

Is this how YOU view unions or are you a member yourself?

There are basically two unions, the trades and the rest. I see lots of complaining about the UAW but they aren't really a trade union.

I don't see how a trade union can outsource american jobs nor hurt the economy when the wages are spent in america.

And as far as the longshoreman goes I would love to get my foot in the door but it is a long hard road to the top.

Yes, that is how i view unions, please tell me that i am wrong about them, because i hate to see inefficiency in the system and the lack of common sense when it comes to Union proceedures and a good idea gone bad.

I did belong to a Union when i was working at a grocery store during my teens.

What is the diff between a Trade Union and other unions?

You must have missed the ABC piece, complete with admissions by Saddam Hussein, last night that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had them, he actively hid them and he planned on reconstituting them...He also expressed the STRONG belief that we would be hit on our soil.

I understand how you missed it, after all the top of the news is Cheney didn't tell the spoiled elitist media snobs that he accidentally peppered his friend with bird shot.
