Stock Option redemption and sale
Hi, unfortuantely my books are at home and I figured you guys seem to know everything else.
Anyways, have stock option to buy stock from public traded company I work for. The option was given to me over 2 years ago(which I think is important) and I would like to redeem my option and immediatley sell. Now I believe the redemption would result in a LTG but what if I immediatley sell. Any takers? Thanks, David |

LTG.. I believe so. Best check with a tax accountant
A few questions, timing, and reporting changes if you are a section 144 affiliate. Are your options currently vested? Do you have multiple options? If so you can elect particular options dependant on current market conditions, and tax implications. Large brokerages have Executive Options Analysis groups that can rus several scenerios for you to choose from. I am with Merrill and have these done and executed frequently. The execution is best with a larger trader. I happen to know ML is the largest trader for positions on the street. Pm me if you'd like a more confidential look at what some options might be. Glad to help a fellow pelican. Ken
