The Ultimate Web Site thread

So we have the ultimate photo thread, video thread, movie thread, and Grid Girl thread (which doesn't contain the word "ultimate" in the title, but it's implicit, right?).

How about an Ultimate Web Site thread? Besides Pelican, which sites do you visit frequently, for reference, entertainment, or whatever reason?

Here are a few that I like:

Virtual Machine shop (information)
http://www.jjjtrain.com/vms/

IT business news:
http://theregister.co.uk

LEDs and automotive lighting:
http://hidplanet.com

Audio/Video:
http://videohelp.com
http://avsforum.com

I have to include ebay. I've gotten too many good parts etc from there.

Procon - No offense intended, but that is the worst web site I've ever seen.

Give him a break, it's probably still "under construction"! Yuk-Yuk

I'd hate to hear what you would say about mine.

Thanks, Cow. I get no payment for it, it's strictly out of pleasure and support for my son's former team.

Ok, so the site is not the best in the world. This is a good group, so is there anyone with good website experience who could help Procon make his site better?

I have built several websites and moderate 3 forums, but its just a playtoy for me. You do this for business so it should be professional.

Comeone guys, who could lend a hand on this??!! Lets make his site a bit better so he can buy more parts from Pelican!

Along Joes line,

I would pay for someone to do up my website. A friend threw my crap together for free. I just have not had time to finish mine.

Anyone want my business? Just give me a ballpark price and lets do it up.

Hey... I thought no offense taken?

Was just being especially honest after a couple glasses of wine, hehe. But honestly, with a little effort, you could spin yourself up a much nicer website. Most of the large host providers have free web design templates available with hosting. At around $8 per month, they are a great deal. Much better than paying someone $10k for a custom website

After years of effing around with MovableType, Dreamweaver, GoLive, etc, I threw it all away and built a fresh site with Apples iWeb. The result is soooo much better than anything I was able to come up with on my own, iWeb rules.
