Rush says its socialism

Rush says that government opposing Wal-Mart is socialism. (And he blames it on the left)

Here in my community, people are upset with Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is building stores in places zoned for residential building and the like. These people are calling our politicians and complaining. Going to city council meetings and voiceing concerns.

Please tell me which is closer to socialism, Our elected officials giving in to the will of a corporation or giving in to the will of the people who voted for them.

Rush frustrates the hell out of me sometimes.

The term 'socialism' simply means "whatever conservatives don't like right this minute"

I think it's Merryland that wants to force Wal-Mart to give out health benefits. That's socialism.

If you don't want them around that should be the voters choice. That's not socialism.

so·cial·ism Audio pronunciation of "socialism" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ssh-lzm)
n.

1. Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
2. The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which collective ownership of the economy under the dictatorship of the proletariat has not yet been successfully achieved.

Rush is right, as usual.

If you don't like Wal Mart in your community, don't give them your money. They'll go elsewhere.

do you guys know how much power wal mart wields in the business sector? It is scary. Dangerous scary. There is a reason that we have some governmental controls over business...and they need to be applied sometimes.

It is more like fascism. Your friends that dislike WalMart have been successfully programmed by the unions, Democrat and media to think of WalMart as a demon...It is all about union jobs, socialism and the politicians who graft off of it...The demonization is right out of Hitler's playbook, same with the oil industry and pharmaceuticals.

From everything I have seen go on with the Rosemead, CA Wal Mart, they can do whatever they want.

City Council has bent every rule for them, did not put it to the people to vote whether to have it or not. Rezoned. High residential impact. It is across the street from an elementary school. Built on an active earthquake fault. It goes on and on.

Numerous lawsuits with little effect so far. Building is almost complete.

Last years Supreme Court Kelo decision concerning gov't condeming homeowner property to give to a business is socialism imo.

That issue ain't over.. especially since Bush replaced a lefty and a 1/2 lefty with 2 constructionists.
