I hate mine. The dent takes a set from where you are, then when you roll to a different position it contorts your spine, usually into a position that is not a good thing.

I have been having some back problems, the mattress aggravates it something horrible, plus it is hot in summer as it does not breath...which is a problem with all foam mattresses.

I would never get one again.....

Try the memory foam topper. We bought a $150 version from Target. It was like getting a new mattress. As the toppers get taller you'll have trouble getting your sheets to fit over it all.

About a year ago we went on a search for a new mattress and thought the Tempur-Pedic were pretty interesting. We did a lot of research and visited a lot of competitors. We ended up with a Tempur-Pedic clone. The difference was it had a traditional 2" batting on top of the foam to help it breath.

I have to tell you it is by far the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. When I travel now, I am never as comfortable as at home.

The only issue is that it does, in fact, take a set. The way to get around this is rotate the mattress every 2-3 weeks. When I do that it never even saggs.

A couple high end hotels offer rooms with a Tempur-Pedic bed. I would suggest find one and try it out for a fun weekend with the significant other.

Spent 20 years in the Navy. 2" thick foam pad on steel plate. Good to go, Never had back pains or nothing. Now the last 2 years on a regular bed SUCKS.
Wish I could get a Navy Rack built for two.

Ever unpack an electronic component that was form fitted in foam? These matresses are the same material.

You get charged 2K for a matress that is no more that $50.00 worth of foam.

I have always wondered how a foam mattress would fare with vigirous in-bed-activities. Might damper the rythm and maybe even sprain an ankle. Sadly could not test it out in the store :)

Tempur-Pedic the best you can do for a good sleep

No problems with the extra-curricular use of the foam mattress. The in-store test went acceptably well all three times, quite a bit of applause and an appreciative audience helped, and frequent and varied uses have not run into any real problems. On occasion the trapeze settles unevenly and I get concerned about the rope eroding the foam, as well as staining should the chocolate or peaches get loose and begin to soak, but so far no problems in the 1256 test cases.

I still don't like them for the reasons mentioned earlier, and in regard to this particular portion of the thread, if one is not careful, a "spoon" turns into a misshapen "ladle" if one does not arise and deal with developing conditions faster than the female gender would prefer...

I was actually thinking about using memory foam with a black and white houndstooth cloth cover for the seat and back pad and black vinyl on the fiberglass buckets in the 914. I like that look and thought the memory foam would be good. Once you sank into it, I would not expect you would move around much

YEP!!!

We've been using our Select Comfort for well over 5 years now. Even have one in the guest room. Funny thing about air-matresses....then never sag or remember the shape of whoever sleeps on it. And with the pillow-top mattress cover, it's like sleeping on a cloud.

And depending on the day's (or night's ;) ) activities, being able to adjust the firmness is a huge bonus.

Heard recently where one of the major hotel chains have replaced ALL of their beds with Select Comforts. Guess where we'll be staying whenever we travel, from now on!

Couple years ago Consumer Reports compared spring and foam beds.
Though it is subjective basically the reports were...

Some noted the foam did not breath, it could be warmer.

During the initial 10 minute test the majority choose the spring mattress.

But after 3 months use more spring mattress owners were not happy while more foam owners were still happy.

Ditto what Dennis said. We've had ours for a few years and are ready for something else. It would probably be ok if you sleep flat on your back, but if sleep on your side it's not very comfortable. Both of us wake up achey. We're looking for another mattress now.

We had a Tempur-pedic mattress topper and didn't like it--It's for a double bed. if I still have it up in the attic, you can have it. Really.
