What ever happened to the bird flu?
I thought that a few hundred thousand people were supposed to get this by now. What happened? It's not even in the media anymore.

Without the predicted mutations and epidemic it's not as newsworthy any longer. There were reports of new cases in China as well as a young girl who died from it in Northern Iraq, where it seems to have travelled from Turkey in the last week or so.

The predicted mutations can occur tomorrow, in a hundred years or anytime in between. "Everything fit to print" - it sold newspapers.

From what I understand the avian flu has been around since 1996, but in it's current state is not very contagious. The fear is that someone with the avian flu will catch a second virus and then that dreaded mutation is underway that could affect millions. In the meantime millions of bird are getting inoculations.

Wait I want to play moonbat:
If there's an epidemic, it's Bush's fault. He was warned and didn't take adequate actions to prepare. If there's no epidemic, it's Bush's fault. He knew it wouldn't be a big deal but used the hysteria as a means of legitimizing the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars to his cronies in Big Pharma. Did I do it right?

Like I said before, I'm more scared of Ebola. What ever happened to that? That's way scarier, they could really boost their ratings if it came back.

What I heard of ebola was it liquified your insides so quick, you couldn't actually circulate out to infect other people.
Not many people drop by to visit when you have the ebola.
