disneyland food

Do any of you guys who are in marketing or some field related know why the food service is so slow at Disneyland? I was there recently and every "fast" food spot was just incredibly slow. My suspicious/cynical nature makes me wonder if it is a purposeful situation to keep a percentage of the crowd tied up in the food sections so the crowds would not be so large on the rides. There has to be something going on because they don't really have extensive menus and most of the food appears to be premade anyway. How long could it take to put a hamburger and fries on a plate?

I have found it to be the opposite. I go to the park about once a month, and many places are very quick.

Maybe it was just an extra busy day that they didn't staff correctly for.

That may have been the problem. I think that somebody said that there were 75,000 people there that day. That was interesting to experience how people from different cultures behave in crowded situations.

I live about 20 minutes away, and my three year old loves the place. My wife and her go almost everyday during the summer for the parades, etc.

All depends on where you go in the park. I personally love the pizza place in Tomorrowland and the burger place over at CA Adventure next to Soaring Over CA. For sit down food, I love the Carnation restaurant on Main Street but I don't think its there anymore or they moved it.

We live about 1.5 hours from Disney in Florida. We purchased a 1 year pass last year and went about 6 times over the year. That is about all I could take.

My younger brother buys passes every year and goes constantly. I cannot understand how you could go to that place over and over. The crowds alone are enough to keep me away.

I am done with that place for a few years now. We will take the 2 y/o again after he turns 5.

I would prefer to take the family hiking or bike riding for the day. Especially away from the crowds.

OK, little kid is a good reason.

When I was in college in the early 90's we had a friend that worked in DisneyWorld. We made a trip up to Orlando on about 3 or 4 different occasions. If there hadn't been a group of us it would have been really boring. Too many of the "rides" are just big commercials for various companies. There are a couple of good rides, but not enough.

We used a computer program called Ride Max, which is available online. Even with the huge crowds, we never waited more than about 15 minutes for a ride and most were in the 5 minute range.

Considering his Pelican name (DD, as in donald duck) and believe that he works for Disney, this might have something to do with it!
