One of my all time dream cars. Unfortunately the repairs will probably exceed the value.

Back in college we were talking about cars and the Countach came up. My roommate's 110lb girlfriend said she'd driven one. Knowing her dad, I believed her. She said it was definently a man's car, very heavy steering, clutch, and shifter.

Ever see the Top Gear where they drove one around town? To summarize, it was a nightmare. A nice one is a maintenance nightmare, that looks like a parts car to me.

I think it'd be cool to have the speedo or the tach or maybe emblems or wheels.

The engine would probably also make a good conv piece.

I was at a car show in East Granby a couple summers ago. A guy had his red Lambo Countach there... turns out it was the car that used to be at the Yankee Candle Car Museum in MA (I had actually seen it a few times before it was sold to him). He has a small crowd gathered around his Lambo as night draws in and it is time to leave. He goes to start it.... and no dice.

It needed to be towed back up to MA...

These cars never did anything for me. Here's some trivia. The engine revving the Van Halen song "Panama" is Eddie's Countach.

I knew a guy who was going to give me the Tach from his 512 BB when he could find it.(car had been previously sold several years ago). Sadly, he died before that ever happened. Was his favourite car he ever owned, he loved the sound of his carburetored Ferrari V12.

I'm gonna' need some pliers, and a set of 30 weight ball bearings (it's all ball bearing nowadays) And I'm gonna' need about 10 quarts of antifreeze, preferably Prestone. No, make that Quaker State.

I used to think they were cool. These photos are the equivalent of going to Goodwill and finding Parachute pants. Once, all the rage, now a horrible relic of a bygone day.

It's amazing how I can go look at the classic lines of a 911 and not get tired of it. Unless it's a slant nose....or has vents behind the doors....

I do like the first generation version. The later ones have too many flares, spoilers and other add ons..

Yeah, but if you saw one driving on the street, you'd stop and look.

Sure, the Countach was the epidome of 80's excesss, but man, that car has presence. In an 'over the top' sorta way. Hey, if you're gonna go big, GO BIG!
