Motorcycle Stupidity!!!!!

I don't know if you've all seen this or not, but Spring is around the corner for you motorcycle riders. Don't be stupid out there and be careful!!!!!!!

You never never know when you're gonna go... Pretty sobering.

See the motorcycle?

A picture is worth a thousand words.

The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.

At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is traveling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have traveled over 363 feet while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken.

Happens everyday here.. We are crazy bunch.

If that rider had not been killed in the accident - he should have been shot anyway.

I rode motorcycles for the past 14 yrs, and just sold my last bike, and not riding anymore. I am a very defensive rider, but so many people just do not pay attention to motorcycles. I just did not feel comfortable riding anymore. Plus the Wife likes riding in P-Car much better than riding on the back of the bike. I give riders a wide berth all the time.

This pic goes around every year. Thank god.

I call this 'Nature weeding out the stupid.' The tragedy here is that this one took out some bystanders.

Maybe, hopefully, the car was parked and unoccupied. Kinda doubt it though.

there is a sport motorcycle gang ( i use the term "gang" loosely) that has an initiation which includes taunting a police officer, and then escaping via hauling arse. this is in el paso. my bro has pictures, that he wont show me, where this one fool hit the side of a garbage truck going 140. he said it looked like a dud scud missle hit the side of the truck. the blood looked like the body exploded like a water balloon.

i love bikes, and when i was dumb, young and full of...i did 140, helmet-less. i am glad i survived.

I love my bike, but would never consider travelling at those speeds - don't even think my bike can go that fast!!

I have a close friend in the UK who had a bad crash with a CBR1100, and spent 11 months in hospital. That was a good lesson for me - and him. He has a bike now, but is always very defensive.

That pic and the article beg the question of how did they get the bodies out? Did they take the bike out and put it back? That bike would have been on their lap. Not to mention all that blood that would be ALL over the place.

Yeah, it doesn't add up for me. Not to mention, the bike appears to be a Honda (including HRC/Honda livery), but with a Ducati rear tail section and single-side swingarm/wheel?
Also, in the 3rd pic, the bike's right side fairing looks to have road rash from from a prior lay-down.
I'm guessing it's a fabricated project for shock value.

Actually that picture has been around (on Pelican too) for a year or more now. As I recall the bike and car are original from the crash. They were separated, cleaned up, and then put back into the crash position for display. Well at least that's the story I read.
