Say hello to my little friends...

I just took my new Sig P239 in 9mm to the range yesterday and really enjoyed it. I also have a Beretta 92FS in 9mm and my son and I fired both of them. We like the way both pistols feel and their accuracy, but they are completely different as the Beretta is a "full size" and the Sig is a "compact". I like 9mm because it's cheap to shoot and I only have the pistols for target shooting, not home or personal defense.

I have a Sig 226R .40. I really enjoy shooting it.

.40 prices are starting to come down as it gains popularity.

If you are target shooting, why not get a really nice .22 ?

9mm vs .22 cal

red-beard,

My wife bought me the Beretta 9 years ago because she knew I used one just like it during Desert Storm. It is 9mm, so I wanted to stick with a single cartridge for my pistols for convenience. 9mm ammo is very cheap, especially ball ammo for the range.

$4.64 per 50 for 9mm vs. $8.50 per 550 for .22 lr

I shoot a lot of .22 at the range, but I need a better .22 pistol.

I haven't had to buy my own ammo in awhile as my brother and father had plenty and they both switched to .45 and .40 Sig, so they gave me all of their 9mm. My son has a Browning A-Bolt .243 WSSM rifle for deer/elk hunting and those rounds are almost $1 each! We also got him a .22 magnum Savage for target/plinking.

I'm looking for an older M16 in .223, as "original" as possible. That's my next addition to the safe...

Sonic,
Yes, But I hit the the target... Wasn't that a Bob Marley and the Wailers song? "I missed the nickel, but I did not miss the paper target???"

I have a few little friends like those too. SIGs are my favorite.

Thanks. That was 15 rds. at 7 yds. through my P220, which finally quit working after about 10 yrs., 10k rounds and no new springs. I'm putting in a new spring kit this weekend. My hotrodded P229 in .357SIG is my main carry piece now.
