RX-7 Autocross Video

I thought I would share this. In the first segment Tim Aro (some of you might know him) and I take turns swapping FTD's at a driving school he works for called Evolution.

Tim is a multi national AX champ and it was a honor for me to go head to head with him in my car. I am unsure who was driving here. Our runs look very similar and out times were within .01 seconds of each other. He won.

The second 2 segments were at a local AX I scored FTD that day and wondered how much room I was leaving on the passanger side so I rigged a camera up for a look. I was pleased to see I was where I thought I was.

I DNF'd the last segmant but had fun doing it.

I don't know how you autox guys figure out where the track goes. If there are no lines or cones around the entire length of the course, I'm lost. Good job, btw.

What type of BOV do you have on that thing? LOUD!

HKS SSQV - It is loud because I am running 15 PSI in those vids that with the T-04E turbo and a lot of air is being pushed out. When I run waste gate it is still somewhat loud but not so much.

Its not that hard. You get there early and walk the course a few times. I pick out some key cones I will need to get around the fastest. I also stand in spots and look to see a pickup point I need to look at. I am looking about 1-2 turns ahead of where I am. That is why I am suprised to see I was so close to some of the cones. I am really only dealing with about 6-8 cones on that course, once you memorize that your good to go. I can accomplish that with about 3 or 4 walk throughs.

This has helped my road course driving a lot. Road course seems to go in slow motion to me. In an AX I am making 12+ turns in 30 seconds. On a road course I get to really take my time set up and drive through the corner. In AX I am done with the turn before I am even in it.
