Caliber SXT
Something new from Chrysler, looks like a "CrossOver" but this one is not AWD from what I could tell.
Powered by a 2.0 L non-turbo, which was $100 extra than some other choice.................looks good, but can it keep up with traffic? Lots less money than an Audi A3, and more room. Found this weekend by accident, never even heard of this car before. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You think THAT'S ugly?
![]() Photos don't do this thing's ugliness justice! It must be seen to be believed....

I think the design is a good attempt at making a car look Truck-Like.
I think it has character, more than a case of the uglies. At least it's not retro - or obviously so. NOTE: If the Subie SUV got rid of the snout, it would be a nice car. Nothing a fender bender can't fix. ![]()

Most fuel-efficient people-movers are ugly. Most good-looking cars get crappy gas mileage. That is the way it is.

I saw the Caliber in a magazine with some concepts...
like this one: ![]() Hyundai Talus concept. 340hp 4.3 V8. RWD or 4WD. I dig the looks, kinda like that Nissan thing.

Ahh, the station wagon. Repackage and rename it and it'll sell like hotcakes.
The Jeep version of the Caliber is a little easier on the eys IMO: ![]() |

Speaking of Jeeps, this showing of international automotive goodwill took place at an auto show in Bulgaria; I'd hate to be the Land Rover guy who had to explain this to the boss:

Couldn't be worse than the guy who shot his hand with the Glock.

I saw a load of these Calibers last week being unloaded. I like them and I genarally do not like Chrysler products. It is to compete with the Vibe and Toyota Matrix. The SRT version is sweet but the base model is rather plain. We have another year before we start seriously looking to replace our Blazer. I WILL NOT buy another SUV. Most likely will be getting a Legacy wagon or an Outback wagon.
