You will get a very cool reception there. Colorado City is pretty much a "closed city" and if you are not a local there they will encourage you to move on.

It used to be a bit better but then the news media kept going up there along with some senators trying to make a name for themselves, so now anyone not local is looked upon as a possible problem.

Having more than one wife is alive and well in this area. Personally its all I can do to keep ahead of one woman, not to mention having several around...

Well, whatever those Mormons are doing, (legal or not) their female offspring is definately top-notch.
I lived and worked in Utah for a year and half (back in 2000/2001), and I've never seen (and had) such a high number of young hotties in any other state!

Joe, just curious why the state of AZ doesn't do anything about Colorado City. I could understand if it were in UT, but I didn't think AZ would be that tolerant of ths stuff.

Its a long way from any civilization and remember that this is the wild west here. Until a few years ago the law was the county sheriff and in Colorado City, he would have been a Mormon.

Only until this stuff was thrown up on the television in Phoenix and Salt Lake City were they forced to do anything about it. As well many in the area could care less if someone wants more than one wife. As long as they are not doing anything otherwise illegal what is the issue? I do not agree with it but sure would not sit on a jury to convict to send someone to jail if they married two women both over the age of consent.

Joe, you're only tempting me more now. Has anyone here been to CC, and if so, how was it? I'm not going there as an investigative jounralist. I just want to see something different and weird. I wouldn't stay more than an hour or two. And isn't the age of consent the whole issue there? From Kraukauer's book, it seems they marry the women off pretty young and not always with what we would call consent.

From what I have heard in the news reports, "pretty young" is usually around 13 or 14 years old. The marriages are arranged from what we are told.

Drive up there, have a long dinner in one of the local dives and see how it feels. I would not start asking a lot of questions or taking pictures...
