Is Harbor Freight always this slow?

I'm getting my beginner's welding gear together and I ordered some gloves and an autodarken mask from Harbor Freight At the beginning of March. They have billed my account in full but the stuff is still sitting in a warehouse. The UPS tracking page still says "billing information received." This is my first time dealing with HF and betwen navigating their "order status" page and the delayed shipping, it may be my last. Is it always this bad?

Here's my email to customer service:

Hello,

Could you please provide an update for order no. 9747595? I have checked the status on your website and I see that part of the order shipped on March 3 and the balance on March 6. For March 3 I have carton number 5396341, with a tracking number of 1ZE65A940353963416. For March 6 I have carton number 5404022, with a tracking number of 1ZE65A940354040223. However, it is now March 14, and UPS still shows these items as "billing information received." I have also been billed in full for these items. I would appreciate an update on the status of this order.

Regards,
Andrew Robison

---

And here is their reply:

Dear Mr Robison,

Orders are shipped from our warehouse via common carrier to a HUB station. Once there, the packages are picked up by UPS. Your package will not scan until then. This takes approximately 7-10 working days.

Regards,
Paige Miller

Please remember to attach all previous emails when you respond to us.

---

This is not the level of service I expect in these days of online ordering...

I think in the future I may order from them only when the price is really nice and I am in no hurry to receive my goods, which will not be very often. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Andrew

My guess is the container carrying your stuff hasn't arrived from Dimsum Province yet.

Harbor Freight has miserable customer service. Terrible. I gave up dealing with them because of it. Check your orders carefully, I think part of their margin is made by charging for things they never put in the box.

i only buy from the stores themselves. i think they sell stuff they don't actually have in stock at the time of order.

OK Guys, both packages just went from "billing information received" to "out for delivery." I guess they're on the truck so I'll check carefully once they arrive. At least I didn't place a big order. Thanks!

I've ordered from them for years and never had a delivery problem.

That is fine, unless you happen to wander in on a Saturday, when they are having a sale, and the line at the register is all the way around the store. Mail order is trouble with them, fortunately the store is close to home

And I gave up after they screwed up 3 out of my 4 lifetime orders.

Go figure.
