poll two: sc - carrera

second part for sc and carreras..what's your favorite year 911? (popularity). hint: if your fave isn't in this poll, find it in the other two..

People are picking the year of THEIR car, not what they think is the best year. Look at all the votes for 79, 80, 81, 82, 85, 87, 88. Those are all cars in the middle of their range and have nothing distinguishing about them. Why is 81 better than 83, for instance? Why is 85 better than 86? 88 better than 89?? Just proves people aren't following the instructions.

I had to vote '78 even though my '78 was built in late '77. 9118300015

this may be true, but seeing as how many of us own several 911's, it's just easier to ask for a favorite year..

exactly 100 votes and still no clear fave looking at these cars. 80 and 81 showing fewest votes with only 2 each..

105 votes..'87 leads close race with 15..
ryan

bigchillcar 03-19-2006 09:12 PM

113 votes and 1988 has 16 of them..a few others in the mid-teens though..

I voted 89 because everything being equal, newer is better. I happly drive a 78, but wouldn't mind something with newer rubber and other parts that age with time. Of course with the later models you also get increased power, the G50 tranny, etc.

bigchillcar 03-20-2006 08:28 AM

'88 holds a slim lead..by one..

147 votes...1988 still has a slim lead..

In this case, yes. It was handed down to me from my dad. It is also an early '84, so, the crew that built her were probably exited about the new model year. The engine has been bulletproof and I have the records and odometer to prove it!

That said, the 993 turbo does look very nice...

still, if it weren't for the '82 sc, the late carreras would be running away..
