poll two: sc - carrera
second part for sc and carreras..what's your favorite year 911? (popularity). hint: if your fave isn't in this poll, find it in the other two..

Up she go again ;)
|
People are picking the year of THEIR car, not what they think is the best year. Look at all the votes for 79, 80, 81, 82, 85, 87, 88. Those are all cars in the middle of their range and have nothing distinguishing about them. Why is 81 better than 83, for instance? Why is 85 better than 86? 88 better than 89?? Just proves people aren't following the instructions.

I had to vote '78 even though my '78 was built in late '77. 9118300015

poll bump..

poll bump
|
voted 82 of course
|
too close to tell here yet..
ryan |
exactly 100 votes and still no clear fave looking at these cars. 80 and 81 showing fewest votes with only 2 each..
ryan |
105 votes..'87 leads close race with 15..
ryan |
113 votes and 1988 has 16 of them..a few others in the mid-teens though..
ryan |
I voted 89 because everything being equal, newer is better. I happly drive a 78, but wouldn't mind something with newer rubber and other parts that age with time. Of course with the later models you also get increased power, the G50 tranny, etc.
|
'88 holds a slim lead..by one..
ryan |
147 votes...1988 still has a slim lead..
ryan |
Just voted for 1984. Why!?!? I have one.

That said, the 993 turbo does look very nice... Dave |
still, if it weren't for the '82 sc, the late carreras would be running away..
ryan |
Heh, each year improved on the last. I think we each own the best year. I actually like Coupes better than Cabs/Targas. I would have been very happy with my dads '68 912 as well. That car was very well restored.
Dave |
151 votes here...'88 still leading with 21, but a close one..
ryan |
'82 just might catch '88...just two votes separate them...19/21
ryan |
too close to call...it's 82 and 87, 88, 89 pretty much tying..
ryan |
165 votes and now 89 has grabbed a one point lead. 88 and 87 still very close, but 82 and 83 showing strong signs of life in the sc category..
ryan |
no change..
|
170 votes...89 has 23 votes..slim one point lead..
ryan |
172 votes...89 still leading a very close race by 2 votes..
ryan |
173 votes..still 89 by 2 with 24..
ryan |
Of course, I voted by car, but I'd love to have an '89 Turbo, which would change my vote then, if this poll is still alive.
|
i'm gonna keep bumping the poll, pat, until i get as many total votes in all three and then publish the final numbers for popularity from 1-39..or however many that is from 65-04. :)
ryan |
178 votes...'89 by a single vote..
ryan |
no change..
|
181 votes..still '89 by a single vote..
ryan |
186 votes..still '89 by a single vote..
ryan |
188...and no change..
ryan |
191 votes total and 89 still leads by one!
ryan |
193 votes, 89 and 87 are tied now..
ryan |
194 votes..89 back in the lead..
|
198 votes..89 leads by 3 now..
