The 17th century English would tie you down on your back and put a bottomless cage on your abdomen with a hungry rat inside. Nasty stuff.

plenty of locals around here who would pay to watch one of those.

And taking a painfully long time to do so, with the victim tied down and helpless...

I saw a mock up of this at a torture museum in Paris about 13 yrs. ago. It was just gruesome. The poor bastard (wax figure) had this look of horror on his face as the rat began to chew through him.

I still like the pig scene in Hannibal best, since Muslims consider contact with pigs to be so sinful.

that's becaused in days of old they were lousy cooks.

If pigs could fly, there would be no muslim terrorists in the skies.

They consider voluntary contact with pigs sinful, when others put them in contact with pig offal, skin, or blood it's merely an insult to their religion, which they take very seriously, but it's not a sin.

Pat, that changes nothing. Didn't Gen/ Pershing order some troops to cover their bullets in pig lard? Or is that an urban legend.

During the conquest of the Philipines, troops tortured muslims by wrapping them in pig skins, and by other means. At least one village was wiped out, and the US Army finally charged and convicted an officer for it.

Death toll for the US invasion and conquest of the Philipines, 5500 US government troops and 200,000 Filipinos.

And no, it wasn't lawful then either.

Here's an artists interpretation with hot coals used to encourage the rats escape attempt. Yuck!

The good ole days...Still head and shoulders better than they treat their own, their women and infidels.

Rick Lee 03-30-2006 05:04 AM

Moses yeah, that's like the one I saw, but I don't remember the hot coal on top. The cage I saw looked like a very heavy cake cover with steel bars. I wish we still did this stuff. Child molesters, rapists, terrorists - this is how it should be done. Actually, the closing scene of Braveheart was pretty good too. Oh, I long for the good ole days.
