Trying to find old scifi movies?

I thought I would ask the board that knows all.
I have a moderate collection of old scifi movies- mostly from the 50's and 60's. There are 2 I have been searching for.
One is named Kohoutek(sp?), which is a blob type attack.
The other is harder, as I can not remember the name. It is about a robot invasion- mankind finally destroys by accidentally cracking its face shield with sound- probably the forerunner of Mars Attacks.
I have tried the google searchs, etc. Are there any active groups I could ask? These were both "hit" movies at the time, so I'm sure film collectors would know of them.
I'm trying to find some of these old films- the ones that scared me to death when I was 8. Does anyone remember their favorite old film- cost a nickle to get in.
Thanks
Gary

The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) isn't as old, but it's one of my favorites.

I have a decent Sci-Fi and Horror collection as well. Most were taped from AMC when they first started and commercial free. Others I've picked here and taped there. (Just picked up a DVD transfer of Robinson Crusoe on Mars...love it!)
One of my favorites was shown on PBS many years ago at like 2AM...Somehow I managed to tape. I never heard of it nor saw it again...I'll have to dig it up and give you the name. Was a trilogy of creepy vignettes.

Remember Creature Feature and Chiller Theater?

Anyway, I'll keep my eyes opened for you....

Can ask here as well: http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=329&page=5&order=desc

Was it Trilogy of Terror? I haven't seen that for ages. Really enjoyed it when it came out.

RE: the broken face plates :

There was a Ray Harryhausen movie from the 50s in which sound was used to bring down the baddies, but I do not remember if it broke faceplates..

Earth vs. the Flying Saucers

Nope...I knew someone would guess that one. That was pretty good though. The one I have is from the 30s-40s.
