Ouch - I hope whatever you did was worth it!

How long until you can fly/wrench?

Playing hockey..! I regularly play 1-3 times a week, and just took a wierd fall. Doc says ill be in a cast for up to 8 months without the screws, and 6-8 weeks with the surgery. Thats why i opted for the screws! Oh, and it hutrs pretty bad.. Thank goodness it was my left hand. Simple tasks, like brushing your teeth or wiping your butt are a major PITA when you hurt your dominant hand!

And the flight surgeon says? Please be careful what you tell them on meds before flying again. Contact AOPA if you are not totally clear on what is legal and not.

The feds will ground you for 90 days if you take codine. Does not matter if the medication is given to you by a doctor and its out of your system in 1-2 days, they are in the dark ages. Confirm what you were given by the doctors is ok to put on your medical form before you do it!

Aieee! I broke my hand years ago and had to have pins put in. The fun part was taking them out - the doctor made a small incision, put some gauze around it, then reached in and yanked them out, like pulling nails from a tire. While I watched, un-medicated.

I tore my ACL a couple weeks ago, playing volleyball, so I'm also on the injured reserve list. I already had this one reconstructed in '99. Looks like there won't be much of a track season for me

YOW. Sorry to hear. Like you said, at least it was your left wrist. Broke my right hand in college--pins in the knuckle--everything you mentioned was a major PITA.

and the freakin' thing still "acts up" to this day.

They will ask you to find out what was in the IV. Be ready beforehand and confirm that the meds are allowed. AOPA is a very good friend right now and do your homework beforehand.
