Video/movie editors, HELP!

I have been working with a prominent actor in his home video editing studio for some time now and I need some advice. The computer being used is Intel/Windows based, I really appreciate Apple for this stuff, but there is no switching. Anyway, the computer is a dual Xeon HT 2.8 with 2 gigs of RAM. The OS is WinXP PRO. The editing sw is Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 (Final Cut Pro is not in the cards). At the moment, his projects are strewn across various drives and needs help getting things in order there, but I can deal with that....

What equipment along the lines as I described do you use and what problems have you encountered? Looking for RAID options as well. I am looking more for Computer specs, Windows OS, Adobe version.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

I use Adobe premier, and like anything else, the bigger the better. You can't have too much RAM, get the fastest multi-CPU box you can get. I'm not up on current RAID offerings, but at least make sure your OS, swap, and movie data are all on separate spindles, and if you can have your video sources and output on separate spindles as well, that's even better. I use Win2k pro, because I hate XP with a mad, burning passion.
