Has anyone tried the new IRC treatment? No pain, no surgery, just zap 'em with Infra-red waves? Not for me you know- just a friend... |

Do not know anyone who has had it done yet.
FYI, one of the worst jobs in the world for this type of thing is flight crew. Sitting down and "pulling g's" puts all the load right in one's rear end. This concentrates things in one area and pilots, especially fighter pilots, have real problems with it. No way around it, if you are gonna pull "g's" its going to happen. Second is anyone who has given birth (or so I am told) in this area. Metamucil is your friend in this situation. Keeps things flowing smoothly so to speak...

Is nothing sacred?
(For what it is worth, I have heard that there is little that compares to a flare-up. I hope never to experience it. Eat bran, drink water and quit having your girl friend stick things up there!)

Been through a nasty episode in my late 20's. The only thing worse is a kidney stone. I suspect the reason it flared up was a 44 oz. Big gulp of coke every day.
Since drinking only water and not drinking any soda at all I have not had a problem since.

My husband (a hardcore motorcycle nut) suffered for years. When it got really bad about 9-10 years ago, he finally saw a doctor about it and had some type of state of the art laser surgery. No more problems.
I saw what he went through the last months before the surgery. It was not funny, I'd had a little problem during pregnancy that cleared up so I didn't think much about my other half's suffering at first- mine was absolutely trivial compared to what Armando went through. When it's bad it can be truly awful. Think: pain, embarassment, bleeding, prolapse. Sort it before it gets to that. Avoid stapling as that is a temporary solution, freezing is not always an option, laser surgery is a permanent fix, regular surgery takes longer to heal and involves more pain and disconfort during convalesence. IRC is a new one to me and I am happy to avoid first hand experience.

Tell your friend that lifting 16 ounce objects will take of the issue for a long time!

Too much standing and too much sitting will do it. Prep H wipes and goo work wonders.

Before you can treat them, you've got to get a good look at them.
