Steve Miller Band. Memory lane..
Dug out my old record collection tonight. Gee, does it bring back memories! Rolling Stones, James Cotton - Mr SuperHarp Himself, Dire Straits, David Lindley, White Snake, Bob Marley, The Boss, Eric Clapton, BB King, Katrina and the Waves, Jimmy Hendrix, Robert Zimmerman, Robben Ford, Ry Cooder, Kenny Loggins (I know), Santana, John Mayall, Stevie Vaughan...
...just to mention a few. Boy, they just donŽt make that kind of music anymore. Put on Steve Miller Band, mentioning to my 6 year old son that Daddy was 9 years old when this record was made. Listening to songs like Jet Airliner or Take the money and run - made me wanna run out to my Porsche, turn the stereo up as loud as sheŽd go - and just floor it out on the highway.

Okay I officially feel old now... On a lighter note my garage band is learning Jet airliner and Joker... we only play songs that start with "J" ![]()

I can't believe you guys know David Lindley/El Rayo X!!! In Sweden no less.
The guy live right around the corner from me. One of the best concerts I ever saw was a benefit for the wife of Jorge Calderon (from El Rayo). David Lindley alone, with El Rayo, with Jackson Brown, Warren Zevon and David Crosby. They played for 4 1/2 hours.

Oh yes, David was one of my long distant "mentors" when I started to fiddle on my first axe. He played that slide guitar the way I like to play a woman. A well balanced combination of gentle caressing and S/M. And you live next door..
