Help a Fellow Pelican

I invited Dan ( known has djmcmath) to Easter Dinner since he was on his way from RI to Norfolk...Dan's a LT in the Navy and is transfering to Norfolk to join his new command, a nuke submarine.

He just called and is having car trouble on the NJTP...not sure where, exactly. If anyone is willing to help, call me on my cell at 240-298-3491 and I'll pass his cell phone number.

He mentioned a problem with his fuel delivery system.

Wish I was in the area (I am a lot lately, I'd run right out).

Is the problem with the fuel delivery system is that it is full of air instead of fuel?

Don't know...the background noise from the traffic limited comms.

I did not ask his permission to ask post here and ask for help, btw...I did offer to drive up today with my trailer to pick him up should it come to that. He's about three to four hours north of me.

Boy, the NJTP system can be a bear, especially on a holiday. Never real excited about driving there and thats with my using GPS and having a rental car that usually runs ok.

Hope you guys get it figured out and get him safely to your place!

Joe A

PS Do not tell him any of your secrets about how to find a "large hole in the water" once you get him to dinner and a drink or three in you guys! Keep him wondering!

Tried to call him a few minutes ago...got a recording. I'll stand by and launch if needed.

NJTP...I was the Chief Test Pilot at the Sikorsky Factory in Bridgeport, CT for three years in the id 90's. Since my wife is a very talented engineer, we decided that I would become a, "geobach" (military speak for the wife and kids stay, you commute as best you can) for the tour.

I drove from DC to the factory every week (except for TDY) for three years and only missed getting home three weekends.

Man, do I know the, Pike.

Just heard from Dan...he is at the Delaware House on I-95.

He thinks it is a throw-out bearing on his VW beetle. Anyone in Del?

I headed up...again, my cell is 240-298-3491 if there is a local who can help.

Good lookin' out, Seahawk!

Whether it's a Pelican thing, or a DON/Military thing, it's always good to see people taking care of their own.

Semper fi!
