Moving to Houston

Finally found out my family is being transfered (again) to Houston, Texas. We are mostly going to live in Baytown. How many pelican guys around there?

I agree, I'm sorry. Hey, the good news is that we are already setting record high temperatures for the year.

There are plenty of Pelicans in and around Houston. Of course, it takes 30 min to an hour to get anyplace in Houston.

Does bivenator always refer to the bivenator in 3rd person?

I don't think the temperature is going to bother me that much. Football right in the middle of the summer in Louisiana is basically hell on earth. Atleast I won't have to deal with the humidity!

Oh, didn't notice you were coming from Baton Rouge, yeah, nevermind, you'll be fine here heat wise. "won't have to deal with the humidity!"?? Sure you will, this isn't El paso or Phoenix. It's still plenty humid here.

Wait, you're from Baton Rouge, you already knew that.

I'm down in Clear Lake. My 930 is actually nearing completion, of course near is a relative term in this case. Maybe it's time for a start the car party (of course I'd start it before hand and look truely amazed when it starts on one crank).

My garage has A/C so a late May get together wouldn't be too bad.

We are going to move over the summer. Exxon's deadline is Aug 1 we have to be in Houston. I am originally from Jersey, I am just getting farther and farther away... Is Houston really all that bad? It is hard to get worse then Baton Rouge, pretty mnuch last on every list. Is it just the traffic?

Cost of living vs. income is one of the best ratios in the country. Know where your office is and try to locate where the commute won't be too bad. Temps and Humidity won't be any worse than you already know.

Oh, and we have a little crime wave going on since New Orlean's finest re-located to Houston.

Except for the heat, humidity, and lack of good driving roads, it's not that bad. I think it's the friendliest city in Texas. The traffic isn't too bad compared to some other cities, but coming in from some areas can be pretty bad. Let us know where you're going to work and what are your concerns with location and hopefully we can help steer you to a good area.

If it's as hot down there as it is here... it's 97 right now! Holy caca!

BRPorsche is 17 and lives with his parents. Nice folks too. Hey Tom, sorry, thought you were going back to Jersey. You might want to get the a/c working in that Targa, you thought Baton Rouge was humid!

thanks Hugh, definitely think AC might be needed. Correction I am 18, yeah I know huge difference. Exxon decided that they would send everyone, but us to Jersey. Oh well.
