Certain Liberals and Honor, or Why did Shaun's $500 check bounce?
Just received the news from my bank. Shaun84Targa's check bounced. Cannot say that I am really surprised but would have thought that someone who acts like they are a "stand up" businessman would not resort to games like this. Wonder if he knows that passing a bad check is against the law?
Yes, thats right, the person who made such a big deal about the bet that Fintstone would not make it to Ultimate Pelican meet in Vegas and lied to everyone that he was going to bet $500 of his money just stopped payment on the check. Fintstone did show up, so I won the bet and deposited it in my bank where its now been shown to have a "stop payment" ordered by Shaun. This really shows what kind of people many of the liberals like Shaun G are in real life. You cannot trust them, their mouths move just to hear themselves speak. Wonder how it will go with his investors when they hear that he is bouncing checks? Bet that G9 values will soar at the news...

But does "stop payment" mean the check bounced?

It means that Shaun contacted the bank and told them not to pay the check. It means that the "financial instrument" (legal word for a check)that he gave Mike H (Lubemaster) to hold for the bet, and who then FedEx'ed me, was refused payment and that is against the law.
Now he owes me the $500 for the check and my bounced check deposit fees that the bank will charge me. As well as he should repay Mike the FedEx charges that he wasted to send the check to me. Its againt the law to give a check to anyone that is not valid. The old days you could play games like this but they have lost their sense of humour about it. I return to the states in 3 weeks. He has this amount of time to make all the charges right or then the fun will begin.

He made the bet in the first place and now stops payment on the check. He has no basis or legal footing to stand on what so ever. Its difficult to slander someone by telling the truth about their actions.

I bounced nothing. I keep more than enough in my accounts to cover anything like this.
I deposited his check in my account and it bounced, being returned as "non-payable" by his bank. My bank will now charge me a $25 or $30 fee for presenting them a check that was not good.

the only niggle from a legal standpoint I see is that this was a "bet" and gambling isn't legal in all states.
But that's just a technicality. One must put one's money where one's mouth is, and that money shouldn't be rubber. |

$25 or $30? Hell, that's a good steak in most places!
Nurse! Another God damned martini! ![]() No one's going to sue anyone. For starters, on what grounds? If at all, Joe won the Bens but got the stiff Willy. But seriously, couldn't you see it coming, Joe? ![]()

Sue? Why? The legal procedure is to give it to my local authorities and let them go after someone who is presenting a check that is not valid. What the check is for is a moot point, it was presented as a legal instrument and payment was stopped on his end. This is why I asked to have the two parties send checks to a third party in the first place. I felt that G9 would waffle somehow and try to get out of it. Now he is facing legal issues for issuing a bad check. He now has the choice of sending me a cashiers check that is good or I will proceed with legal methods to collect my $500 as well as bank charges. If nothing else can take him to small claims court here in Phoenix. If he does not show, then he loses and they go after him for the money in Boston, and if he shows it costs him two days time traveling to and from, the airfare to and from Boston and will lose the case when I present the check that has been stopped along with the photo of Fintstone in Vegas. Will be offline in a couple of hours for the next two days. Going somewhere that has no internet access. Hope you guys have some ideas what to do with our little ladies shirtmaker in the meantime!

This title's funny!
Now "liberals" don't have "honor" because of this one incident between you and Shaun. What does this have to do with "liberals?" Shaking my head. LOL |

As well G9 has been in various scrapes on this forum due to his stepping in where he did not belong. Ask Souk about this and you will find out what type of person he is. A man is only as good as their word and we now now which way to stand with G9. PA, would use a photo of G9 at the UPM but he did not have the balls to show up. Course neither did any of the other liberals either...

Joe, I think cc's point is that a more appropriate title might have been G9 and honor...painting us libs (like cc who flew in and me who rode a frickin' bike across the desert just to show up) with the same brush makes us feel bad and cry.
Don't make us cry Joe. Have you seen cc with running mascara? Or me for that matter? Not a pretty sight... |

Again, what does this have to do with "liberals?" This has to do with a guy that goes by the name of Shaun. What does "other liberals not showing up" have to do with this? And it's quite possible they had other things to do instead that weekend....or maybe they were running short of money at that time....maybe they're trying to buy a new house or something.... I completely understand and see your point in being mad, but I feel you should focus the anger where it belongs. |

BTW, if someone substutued "neo-cons" or "moderates" or "libertarians" or whatever for "liberals," my response would be the same. ![]()

Agree with CC (for once, lol) and Nostatic. Yes, it appears that Shaun84Targa is a spineless weasel with no morals, but I would not paint all Liberals with that brush. Sure their political ideas may be wiggety-wiggety-WACK, but many of em have lots of honor....
Where is Shaun anyway?? Self banishment or what??
