Fine, then I get Spring and Fall

I've seen parts of Dirty Dancing, and I think I may have seen a glimpse of that house. What construction is needed on the house? It looks picture perfect.

Sorry procon, not a wine fan. I'll have to remodel and setup some kegs on tap.

Hmm, ok, it can stay as long as the pub has room for my dart board. Steel tip, not that wimpy soft tip setup. Sign me up, I'll take it!

I would love to move in if I won, but can you handle the 1/2 mill taxes? Most winner walk through, maybe live in for a week and then have to sell. Funny thing is the people that can actually afford to pay the real estate taxes most likely already own their "dream house".

TYLER, Texas A free house may be too expensive for Don Cruz to keep.

Cruz won the five-thousand-square-foot house in Texas in the Home and Garden Television "Dream Home" sweepstakes. The one-and-a-half (M) million-dollar home on the shores of Lake Tyler also has a boathouse.

But to keep the home, Cruz has to find a way to raise about 631-thousand dollars he owes in taxes. He had hoped to do that by renting out the boathouse and the master bedroom, but city regulations may prevent him from doing that.

He says he doesn't want to sell the house, and hopes the Tyler City Council can help him out.

Cruz won the home in April when he was selected from 39 (M) million entries. He used to live in suburban Chicago.

that is a sweet house. nice way to keep the rain off your head. i bet you can set up a spotting scope and shoot deer off that deck. then just send the butler down to collect and field dress the deer. then drive the maybach down to the taxidermist...

What is the property tax rate in TX? Does that figure include capital gains or some other *prize* tax collection?

Not a dream house for me if the garage is only a two car unit!

Looks very nice otherwise!

I agree. I always thought a old fire house would be a great place to live. Wake up, get dressed, slide down the pole, work on the car(s). Perfect.

I think it is similar to the 911 they were giving away. You win it, but then you have to pay the IRS their share of the total value. For that 911 is was almost a 1/3 or around $30k.
