Zat thing gotta hemi?

0-60.

WHO CARES?

I like a fast car. I want the butt dynometer to register some Gs (from the car you sicko...). But there is more to an automobile than how fast it gets you to 60mph.

Any cut rate engineer in Detroit can drop a 7.0 liter engine in to whatever massive POS they happen to be producing at the time and make it go 'fast'. The Japanese can take wretched little economy cars, throw in a leaf blowers pushing 20psi, and make it 'fast'.

WHO THE F*CK CARES?

How about the howl of a flat six as it rips past 6000rpm?

How about a 24 year old car that handles like its on rails?

How about a well laid out interior that looks modern after 24 years?

I was in my 82 SC tonight. No cars around, screaming down an one ramp to I-5. My car is by no means totally sorted, but still.....its poetry in motion.

How can people not 'get it'?

How can the dickhead in the Evo not notice that NO ONE even glances at his car, but people will stop in parking look to look at a 30 year old Porsche? Its art vs. craft you dolt.

BAH! Tis a *****e world, and the wine has a hold of my tounge.....

This is what I keep trying to tell my wife. Except mine's 4 not 6 cyls.

She's a Mopar Girl. Give her a '69 Dodge Charger and she'll be in the clouds.

HardDrive,
I have tried explaing this to people that wonder why I don't have a newer"hotrod". I like my SC. I was behind some guy in his Vette yesterday. (A nice 94 Convertible.) I followed him on to the freeway. Yup, he took off like a maniac when he glanced in his rearview mirror. I purposely stayed far behind getting on so that he didn't get the wrong idea. I had no intention of "challenging" him. As I caught up to him in traffic I noticed quite a few people straining to check the Porsche out. Of course, he will have to deal with the sunburn on his balda$$head for days!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Check your area classifieds for the price of a '94 Vette ragtop these days. But Oh haha...you're a better car spotter than I. I couldn't tell the difference between a '94 and a'95...

I know. Thats just slays me. If you ask 100 owners of cars with a 'hemi', will they even know what that means? Perhaps pointing out to them that the honda civic next to them is also a 'hemi' would be fun.....

It wasn't hard to know the year....His plate said "Daves94".
I did recognize the color though. POLO GREEN, I painted my old Camaro that Vette color in 1994.

The guy was probably a decent fella, he just really looked like the stereotypical Vette owner.
