Royal Infield motorcycles

I see Royal Infield is importing bikes to America, has anyone seen or ridden one?

http://www.royalenfield.com/app/US/default.asp

I know for $5K I would be better served by a used BMW or Japanese bike however I am more interested in a unique ride than a go fast machine.

Interesting. Any idea what model this is? I can't seem to find it listed.

found it. a 2,500 option on the standard "Bullet" model bringing the total to $7,500.

Hard to pass up a nice R75/5 for considerably less coin than this bike.
Would be interested myself in learning more about these however.

Whats interesting about the Enfield is that the basic design has not changed in decades. However, $7500 for one is absurd. Look around. There are few dealers, and I am sure some have last years models sitting around.

Yeah Paul that bike caught my eye also... I suppose that is why they put it front and center of the ad.
Looks like it is the same engine in all their bikes so $2500 seems a little steep for some extra chrome goodies.
Interesting that there are dealers all over the USA but none in Calif.

I suppose I could buy one in Arizona and drive it home.

My original plan was to save up two or three grand and get a mid seventies Beemer twin. Problem being I am not so good at saving up money.

Maybe I could call the shop in Arizona and see if they can import a diesel for me.

Yep, I did a search and you can get last years model for around $3500 AT A DEALER.

I'm sure there are a few out there that hubby rolled up in the driveway and wifey said "NO F***ING WAY" or mid life crisis guy picks one up and almost kills himself on the way home from the dealer... those are usually great deals when you can find them.

If you don't want a go-fast machine the Enfield is definitely the ticket.

You might make it up to 65 heading downhill, with a tailwind, drafting behind a semi...

There was a certain charm to pre war design British singles, but I'm too old for that now.

Is that really an Amal carb and drum brakes? If so, combine them with oil leaks and the Prince of Darkness, and time warp to 1955.

Wonder whatever happened to my Matchless G50????

That Triumph looks pretty similar to the '50 to '70 models. I wonder what ever happened to my 1958 AJS. Rode that thing many miles.
